Spanx or Flexees?

As of today I am 4 weeks post op from my TT and yesterday my surgeon gave me the clear to wean off my binders. I am uncomfortable having nothing there for compression still and was wondering if spanx or flexees were better? I don't need a ton of compression, just some snugness. And any advice on finding the right size (on the spanx website it has different slimming levels) Anyone have experience with one that worked for them? Thanks so much!

I am still per-op but love spanx now. I'm not familiar with flexees but will be interested to hear opinions

I like to wear "Cupid" support that I find at Walmart. I like the one that has shorts and goes above the waist for good support there. If you buy the one with hooks it will not roll. It is pretty cheap around $13.

I have not had my plastics yet, butttt....I do wear flexees every ding.dang. day.....I swear by them. I do own some spanx as well, but I personally find them much to constricting for my liking...and they really smash my boobs. lol.

Flexees hold me in but are not so tight that it's uncomfortable to sit....where as I sometimes actually will get a stomach ache from my spanx because they're so tight....and I even size up with them.

I have both. In my opinion, they are almost identical and flexees are almost half the price. If you have a JCPenny by you, you can go try the different kinds of compression garments on.  I just ordered one from design veronique because I needed something that went down my leg for my thigh lift.  I wish I could of tried it on prior to purchase.  I am very tall and things don't usually fit me like they would other people with my measurements.  I took a large in flexees, but I ordered an XL in design veronique to be safe... e shall see if I made the right call on that when it comes in this week :),  Good luck!  I say go with flexees.... and get more than one so you can wash and have a spare.

My doc's nurse told me on my first pre-op visit that I could uses "Spanx-type garments" instead of, or with (to keep my binder from rolling up) my binder if I wanted. I was surprised that they said it was ok since I was very early out, but that's what they said.

One thing you need to consider is that after a certain amount of time, you need to wean off of the binders and support so your own muscles can take over and work for you (that's what I've read, anyway). I think that going with a lighter support would be better than a heavier garment because it will help you with weaning yourself off of support all together. The Walmart one's, as someone suggested, really do work well. I've been using them for a while, pre-op, as shapers. They wash well, too, and don't lose shape or color.

I hate the grip of Spanx. My surgeon insisted on the surgical garments for six weeks, 24/7. After that I switched to Flexee camisoles and leggings. They worked great.  I found some at Costco.

Thanks for the opinions!

I tried a lot of flexees on at Khol's today and my only issue was I liked all of them! :P

I think I'm going to get one in a small (which is what the brand suggests for my size) and another in a size up just to help in the weaning process but not be completely without. And best of all, getting 2 is still cheaper than one pair of Spanx! :)

I was able to switch to "spanx" or something like it after 4 weeks, weaning my self off of them over the next 2 and then just using them when I was extremely active.

Being summer, I couldn't bear to wear the panty types as they make me very uncomfortable and sweaty down there (tmi I know). I went to jcpenney and bought three flexees waistnippers that go from under my bra to the top of my legs. The ones that have boning and a row of front claps are the most comfortable as they do not roll up on the bottom. There is one that is pull-on with no front claps and no boning, which I thought would be more comfortable - but it rolls up in the back on the bottom and I am constatly pulling it down. I think they were around $35 dollars a piece.

A few weeks after my TT my surgeon also told me to get some sort of a spanx or spanx like garmet instead of wearing underpants.  he didn't want me to have the plastic from the panties.  So I bought several pairs of spanx on ebay...got them for a great deal but when they came..I hated them!  They were so uncomfortable for me.  I ended up sending them back and searching all over for something that worked and yet was comfortable.  The one that ended up working for me, I just loved.  I got them at target and they are made by the same company as spanx but are called asset.  Someone on OH recommeded them to me...loved them...so much better than spanx.
(and much cheaper too)  I also did wear my binder for several months..I found it to be very comfortable!  After  a few months , I didn't wear it during the day but did at night.

hope this helps!
