Getting nervous for Wednesday

I don't remember being this nervous before my RNY, but boy am I nervous about my abdominalplasty/panni removal coming up on the 20th! I think I am all set for supplies thanks to many of you on here that I have been following.

I am super excited to have the skin removed, but I think I am mostly afraid of the pain. I had an emergency surgery 8 days after my RNY due to going into septic shock. That was some of the most unbelieveable pain, and I think that is what I am nervous about. It seems like everyone is so different, some of you seem to have little pain, and some have a lot. I guess I will just have to wait and see. It will be here so soon.

Good luck! I am 3 days out after tummy tuck, arm lift, thigh lift, and breast lift with implants. My pain is WAY less than my RNY. The thing that hurts the most is my lower back from hunching. I get little burning twinges on the incision lines and just kinda achy and sore. I was taking 10 mg Percocet every four hours, but today have been able to stretch it to 5 mg every six hours. I was way more nervous for this than for my RNY as well, but there is no reason to be. You're gonna do great!

Good luck!
I will not lie, it will be painfull this is why you will have prescription for percoset.
2 weeks I lived on it, could not be without drugs.I took 2 every 4 hours.
More pain is coming from muscle tighening.but boy it is all worced on the end.
You will be ok, just remeber to take drug before you are in pain.

If you don't have the abdominal muscles tightened I don't think you'll have as much pain as you fear.  The plastic surgeon I saw today says the pain with muscle tightening is more severe.  Of course its all relative.  Take your pain meds regularly rather than wait for the pain to get worse.  Pain is much harder to manage when it gets away from you.
Best of luck!

You will do good.  Just keep ahead of the pain by taking your pain meds.  I took one pill every four hours for five days straight.  Afterwards, I took tylenol during the day and 1 pain pill at night to sleep for the next four days.  I never really felt pain during this.  After that, only the drain tubes were a pain in the *ss.  Good luck to you.

I'm eleven days out from my tummy tuck, and I agree that it has been virtually painless. I've had no trouble at all getting up and down from chairs, or my car, etc. I even drove myself to my first post op visit (almost two hours each way) five days after my surgery. I've had two c sections, and expected it to be very painful, but it's been super easy. Like the other's have said, take your pain meds. My doc prescribed muscle relaxers to stop any muscle pain, and they must work, because I have not had any pain. You'll be surprised at how easy it goes.

THANK YOU everyone for your advice and words of support. I will be having the muscle tightening in the hopes that it will help with the low back pain but I will be talking to the surgeon today at the pre-op about pain management. I already take Vicodin daily for the back pain, but the pain management Dr. said to tell them it is not a high enough dose, so make sure they give me something better  I am thankful for the advice to take it before the pain gets bad, that is good to know.

It was especially nice to hear that some of you have not had problems getting around, that is something I am worried about. I am so glad I have this venue to ask questions, and appreciate the support. I am sure I will be here in the upcoming days for more advice.

Again, thank you all for your responses.
