back home from lower face lift / neck lift / brow lift
I went to the hospital 5:30 AM Friday. Thank heaven my dad and sister came to town to help, so my husband was able to take me to the hospital while they got the kids off to school in the morning and picked up in the afternoon, dinner made, etc.. The doctor came in and drew on my face, told my husband how the day would progress. Then I was taken to the OR. They confirmed my name and procedures, told me my pregnancy test was negative (whew! lol), and I was out. Apparently the surgery took about 8 hours.
When I woke up in recovery, I was in quite a lot of pain. Also, I was vomiting from the anesthesia. They gave me a cold gel pack to go over my eyes, which helped a LOT. I went home Saturday morning, still very swollen but feeling more human. The pain medication seems to be doing a pretty good job keeping me from getting too terribly uncomfortable. Most of the pain to me seems to be concentrated in my forehead/eyes from the brow lift, rather than the lower face / neck lift area. From what I can see thus far, my neck is going to look wonderful. Anyhow, I'm still kind of doped up, so I'll stop here and check in again in a day or two.

Glad to hear that things went well. I just had a full facelift on March 7th, and I remember the recovery well. I had no pain other than a really bad sore throat for three days, but I don't think that I fully undersood just how long the true, full "recovery" takes with facial work. I still have days when I swell, and I still have some numbness, but it's getting better by the day.
Just know that you will not see your full results (or even feel like you look human some days, lol) for about three months. Hang in there, and know that things will just keep getting better and better. I'm loving my new face, and I'm sure you will love yours, too. Feel better soon!
