HELP PLEASE NEED ADVICE!
Sorry I haven't posted any pics of my tt yet I'm about maybe 3 months I was so happy at first seeing my stomach look flatter, but all of the swelling is gone and I'm upset now! I've been feeling this way for a couple Of weeks I think the dr could've taken a lot more of my upper stomach looks like a muffin top and I look pregnant! It I were to lean forward my top half will hang like two breast! I'm not happy and afraid to ask for a revision! Does anyone know if a revision is automatically included in the cost of having a tummy tuck if ur insurance covered it all?????? Any help please the bottom of my stomach is flat and he said he went all the way up but it's not what he told me, no less why go through it if I was still gonna feel and look fat!
I don't have any answers to your questions but I just wanted to say I'm sorry you're not happy with the outcome. Have you discussed your concerns with your surgeon? I looked at my paperwork from my PS (haven't had the surgery yet) and it states if revision is needed I would be responsible for any fees outside of his surgical fees.

Well, my surgeon follows me for a year after surgery.
I saw him the day after, then at 1 week, then at 4 weeks, and then I will see him again at the 3, 6, 9 month times -- unless I have problems.
At 10 months, if there any any lingering issues, he will schedule lipo or revision (for free).
He did my arms/breasts 19 months ago and I did not need any revision --- my tummy seems to be coming along nicely, but we may end up with a little lipo -- I won't know until next January.
I think you should schedule to go in and see your doctor and voice your concerns and find out what their policy is. It is likely that they will tell you to wait it out for now -- but you should understand what the time-line is for revision and how it is handled financially.

So sorry that you are not happy with your results right now. It's SO hard for a person to stick up for himself sometimes, so I totally understand your reluctance to ask about a revision. Still, most all surgeons offer revisions if things don't turn out well, and often, revisions are needed.
You surgeon won't be offended by your asking. It may not even be anything the surgeon did wrong. There are many reasons that things can turn out differently than expected, and most of them seem to be pretty easy fixes, from what I've read.
If you want some opinions before you go to your surgeon, you could always post some photos (of just the problem area) on the surgical section of realself.com. The doctors there are great about giving opinions about what they think can be done. It would be a great way to get some ideas before you actually contact your own surgeon. Never hurts to be very informed, especially when talking revisional surgery.
In revisions, the patient sometimes has to pay everything except the actual surgeons fees if it's something major enough to have to be done at a hospital or surgical center. That's not always fair, but most of the surgeons seem to use that policy. I had to sign a paper the day that I paid for surgery that outlined my surgeons revisional policy, but I don't think they gave me a copy. You might look on your surgeon's website and see if the policy is listed there.
Good luck, and try not to worry. Easier said than done, I'm sure.

With insurance paying....I'm curious to know if you only had a panniculectomy and not an actual tummy tuck that addressed the top portion of the stomach??
Did the doctor tell you his expectations before surgery?
did he do a regular tummy tuck or fleur tummy tuck?
I'm sorry, just trying to understand what procedure you had.
Did the Dr. say that you were under longer than he anticipated and couldn't get it all?
Maybe something happened in the OR where he didn't have enough time
Maybe you should mention to the Dr. that you felt as though he would take more off and wanted to know if he ran into complications in the OR because what you have is not what you were expecting...
Hope things work out for you

Your description of your upper abs sound like mine. After much discussion, my doctor and I decided to address this issue with the Fleur de Lis tummy tuck. It sounds like you may need to go back in and have the upper part of a tummy tuck done. Was your belly button relocated in a higher position or is it in the same position as before? I would talk with my doctor about what your options are at this point. I have a dog ear on my left hip and we are going to address it during my butt lift and outer thigh lift in January. Good luck to you.
I would think that you would not have to pay for a revision and revisions are common. I had a 360 but due to an old school gallbladder scar I am not very tight and in Novenber when we do my thighs and breast lift I will get a revision. I knew going in that it would not be super tight but my surgeon says that now that that area has built up new cappilaries he will be able to get me tighter and remove more but had we done that in round 1 we there woas a major chance that i would not have healed.
Just be honest and see what can be done. Sometimes things that look good on the table don't look as good after we get to moving around. In my case i was 405 at my highest and my elasticity is shot!
You may have to pay for anestesia but i would not think you would have to pay for anything else.

I had a revision to my TT and I had to pay $1550 for the surgery center. So I think it all depends on whether your dr. owns his/her own surgery center or they are willing to pay the surgery center for your revision.
Also, i know where you are coming from with the muffin top. I talked to my surgeon about it and he showed me if I lay down flat there was no more skin to pull and what is left is a layer of fat...that he cant lipo. He said they don't touch the top layer of fat because it could end up looking uneven or lumpy. I had a revisions for the bottom part of my tummy and am dealing with the upper part....seeing if I can drop a few more lbs.
It is definitely worth a conversation with your Dr. to see if there is even anything he recommends.
