Magic number for drains
I am taking them. I have been on some sort of supplement with those and a few other things sincd 12 days before surgery and will be up till at least 17 days after. My doc includes this with his fee. Part of it is a powder that you can drink alone or add to a protien shake and then there are 4 pills for the next part. It seems to be working. My drain output for 3 days now is less than 25, so I am doing really well!

Sounds like your doc is on top of things! That's great. Bet you get the drains out at your next post-op. I hope I do, too. I put out about 15 cc total yesterday. I keep stripping my drains thinking they MUST be plugged, but I can tell that they are working. Guess it must be the supplements. I can't believe I resisted her advice to take them until now. Mostly, it was just that I could not find them locally, and had to go out of my way to track them down once I finally decided to take them.
Post op on Tuesday, so maybe they will come out. Not being able to bath or shower (except sponge) is driving me CRAZY. These drains pull every time I get up and move around, so it will be nice to get them out. I'm still waking a little bent over, per doctor's instructions. Not sure if I could straighten u*****t since I have not tried. I'm sure people who see me probably think it's pain keeping me hunched over, but it's not. I just don't want to widen my scars or cause stretch marks, so I'm doing my best to follow orders not to walk completely upright until two weeks have passed.
I'm doing so darned well that it's not even fair. I can't believe how easy this has been for me so far. Hope it continues to go well for both of us! I LOVE my new tummy, and I know you love your's too. I'm jealous about the arms. I suppose I'll probably do arms and a breast lift, but not until Spring. I've had enough of this recovery stuff for now, even though my recoveries have been a breeze so far. Don't want to push my luck, for sure.
