Magic number for drains
Looking at my instruction sheet, and it says the drains can be removed once they drain less than 30cc's in a 24 hour period. It does not say if that is per drain, but I assume it is. I'm still draining about 135 cc's in 24 hours, so I've got a ways to go. Just saw my new belly button, though, and I LOVE it!!
Hooray for you!!! I've only had mine a few days, and I'm sick of them already. That ouchy pull that happens every time I move (where the tube exits the incision) drives me crazy! They've been leaking on my clothing again since the nurse changed my bandages yesterday, too. Hate that. I KNOW you'll feel so much better once that things out! Can't wait until it's my turn...
If you are not already taking Bromelain and Arnica Montana (oral pellets), you should try them. They appear to be making a HUGE difference for me with the amount of drain that I'm getting and the swelling. It's only been two days, but I'm a believer. My surgeon in Pensacola gave me a list of supplements to take, and this is only two of them. I may try the others since these are working so well.
