Newbie - Multiple Procedure question

I'm a year out from RNY and 10lbs from goal (130lbs lost).  I anticipate having surgery about this time next year.  However I want to bundle my surgeries so I'm out 1 time and can get the discounts for combining.  Is it unheard of to have the following done at the same time?

TT
Arm Lift
Possible Thigh Lift
Possible Breast lift/aug

My ones that will absolutely happen are the TT and Arm lift, but am seriously considering the inner thigh and possible breast lift as well.

If I had to "give up" one procedure it would probably be the Breast lift/aug.

Thoughts?  I'll be scheduling a consult in the next few months but am starting to do the research now.

thanks!

Well, I am having inner/outter thigh lipo, tummy pooch lipo, arm lift, breast lift with implant all in one surgery. I originally wanted a thigh lift, but doc told me that is too many procedures and to try the lipo first and then in 6 months if I still want the thigh lift he could do it. (I am like you--want to get as much out of the way in one surgery.)

Hi Melissa!

I recently just had a TT and Arm Lift and let me just say that is enough to start with.  Due to the nature of stomach muscle and the use of your arms not functional after the arm lift you need your legs.   Most doctors will tell you that they will not perform all three of those surgeries together.  You will need something to help you through the recovery of the tummy tuck.  To me the pain was ok and I'm a wimp for pain.  My arm left is ok but you can't move them to much either.  So i would wait until after your six weeks before having the thigh lift done.

I'm going back in September to have my thigh lift done.  I had both my arm lift and TT on April 19th of this year.  I'm waiting for cheaper flights to go back  to Santo Domingo where I had my surgeries and my doctor was great!

Thanks,
Lisha

Well let me add I had to have 13lbs remove from my stomach and a few from my arms.  Due so much blood lost I couldn't have any other like my lipo done.  I will have lipo, butt injection and thigh lift when I return.  Still not saying you can't it's just the fact not being able to use any of your body parts will be a big problem.

Thanks,
Lisha

I am having all of the procedures you mentioned, at one time, on June 15th. My surgeon says because I am small, the time to complete all 4 proceudres will still be under the 6-8 hour cut-off time. I will laso have full time care (mommy is coming to take care of me, lol). With these things in mind he is ok with all at once. Also, I got massive discounts for having them all done together. I will post some before and afters when I'm feeling up to it....11 more days to go!!!

TT/TL/AL/BL with Aug 6/15/2012! Looking good so far!

Hello, you can see from my signature line, the procedures that I had bundled together.  Dr. Sauceda uses an epidural so no general is involved.  I was up and walking the morning after I got out of recovery.  I was grateful to have one recovery instead of the four that Kaiser recommended.  Dr. Sauceda has a group here on OH if you are interested in learning more about him.

So..........this may sound dumb but were you awake during this since it was an epidural? Sounds scary lol. I knew someone who was awake during their hip replacement. Said she didnt feel a thing but could hear them sawing and hacking, gross!

No, not awake. Twighlight sleep.  I did wake up during my facelift and was talking to the doctor. He told me to go back to sleep. :)

Hey there,

I was wondering how things went with Dr. Sauceda. I am open to going to Mexico again. I have had nothing but good experiences so far with Dr. Aceves. I just got back from taking my mom down to him for VSG.

I would like to see what others have had do say about him and get some info on pricing. I am not sure how to find the info you were talking about. Can you help me on my research path?

Thanks so much,
On my way!!!!!!

I think you need to look into having this done now because a lot of surgeons want you at least 10 or 20 pounds out for safety, especially when you are having multiple procedures.

Bear in mind that, if you have them all in one fell swoop, the post-op healing process can be more painful than having multiple procedures.  In practical terms, that means to make sure you get your scrip for pain meds filled before you need them, preferably before you actually have the surgery, so you won't have to wait for a pharmacy to fill the scrip while you actually need it.

Have you thought about who or where you intend to do your plastics?
