Dr Pousti
Dr. Pousti in San Diego is doing my extended tummy tuck & lipo. He has done wonderful on weight lose patients, so I know he has the experience I need.
I learned the hard way to really research my plastic surgeon. I went to a friends plastic surgeon & she wasn't experienced. I have to have all of my previous work redone.
Whatever you do, make sure you research your ps.
I can't wait for June 8th. After I get this paid off, I plan on getting rid of the bat wings & a breast revision.
Good luck everyone!!!!!

Strangely enough,as I too will ge having "revision" i google "tummy tuck scar revision" and the best site and info I found is your PS. I live in Idrael so he is nit an option for me at all. Dr. Pousti sounds to me like the King of Revisions (besides his numerous regular plastic procedures) similar to the phenomenal reputation of Dr.Sauceda. Which does not mean that many other PS out there are not competent, but rather what I have read about these two is superb artistry and craftmanship.
As for myself, I seem to always have "something" problematic after surgery such that I cannot say that my "slough turn gangrene" was due to any incompetency or negligence on his part. We are all told the possible risks of any surgery and more specifically for Plastics. In my case a very small gangrene was way better than GD Forbid dying on the operating table, lung problem... The PS and I knew that having been morbidly obese and in my case a horrific case of interetigo (rash below the hanging pannus) there was a major danger that the rash might enter my body. Thank GD it did not. I did however have the gangrene with some areas of dehiscence subsequent debridement in the operating room and along seven weeks treatment with a WoundVac in the hospital (as I live far away and living in Israel we have socialized medicine). Then my vertical scar healed like a rope-keloid and hypertrophic-it itches and at times is painful enough to awaken me in the middle of the night.
I mention all these details because, in Israel, although we hsve socialized medicine, there are also private PS and hospitals but I personally do not have
many options for revision as I live off of Disability and I really do like my PS and got to know the staff at the hospital I was at and they know me and the ways my body reacts. I am not diabetic nor did or do I have high BP or cholesterol nor do I smoke - and yet my body heals slowly and problematically as if I am diabetic.
My TT was 8/08/11. By November I convinced my PS to file forms for me for Breast Lift as it can take months to process in the system until one can get a date for surgery. He warned me that my HMO would very likely not approve the
procedure. I told him to do his part and I would fight the system if I had to.
We have socialized medicine but there are still protocol and I had to pass a medical review board specially for Excess Skin Removal After Weight-Loss which convenes once every five weeks for the whole country. I went in May after faxing all the pertinent medical documents and after two weeks time they sent me a letter denying me the combined surgery.
I appealed the end of March and then we had a slew of Jewish holidays but I am a very determined woman and rang that office every week. And I won!
I was due for my Plastic Surgery mid-May buy at my pre-op I was given the most disappointing news thst I was being bumped as there were "emergency" cases of melanoma (skin cancers are treated by PS and cancers always take precedence) and burns cases. I was told that I would be rescheduled for June. I eagerly await the phone call telling me to come to hospital.
I also have a bit of assymettry (which I was told could be a possible complication). I'm not sure if I am having along with Breast Lift, scar revisions or revision of TT but was told by PS to bring the binder and to buy a front-closing sports bra preferably in black which I will buy in lingerie shop at the hospital mall when I go.
Sorry for my ramblings...I haven't even had my boobs done yet and I'm already fantasizing if I can convince my PS for inner thighs and sides of butt - but for next year after I hopefully finish healing from what I will soon have done.
Best of luck with the continued skill of Dr.Pousti!

My boobs are still better than before. They were so long & flat!!!! Now at least they are big & round. My left breast has a tendency to slide into my underarm a little when I lay down & it drives me crazy. Plus they are 2 very different shapes because my first ps made the left pocket too big. My tmmy tuck scar is pretty thick & hopefully my new ps can thin it down a little, because it is pretty high up. I will try & post some pictures.
Good luck with your surgeries, it is so hard when we have the loose skin.
I will keep you in my prayers.
