went for my first ps consult today he said I would be a good candiate for breast reduction. Just hope I can get insurance to pay for it. he said he would remove close to 500 cm or something like that from each breast since it's just skin I used to be a tight 44f now I am like a 36 dd or ddd the problem is it's just skin and they don't fit into a bra right. I've had back problems in the past and they always said it was cause I was so overweight which meant obese. well now I've lost over 89 lbs and still losing and my neck and upper back are killing me and I always feel slumped over. The ps office said I need to show 6 months of problems before they will submit it to insurance. they took pics to. how embrassing that was. so now I will see a back doctor aagain and see what they say now . please wish me luck I want this so bad thank you

Good luck! I know exactly how you feel. I'm only 4'11" and after losing a bunch of weight was a 34H. The bras still didn't fit me right. I'd have to have the straps as tight as possible to get any support which would leave marks on me. My neck, shoulders and back were always hurting, etc. so I know what you're going through. I hope you're able to get it approved through insurance!

Document everything!
Orthopedist for back pain and cutting shoulder straps
GP and skin doc if you are like with rashes underneath.
Some have even mentioned seeing Psych for emotional aspect.
Whatever works.
I live in Israel where as in States if certain words are written in the paperwork gives us what we need/want or screw us.
You do not want Cosmetic. You want your body to return to a more normative status. It might behoove you to get a copy of your medical insurance coverage policy and read very carefully to find the right wording to get your body what it needs and deserves! I speak from experience of reading OH and other online research as well as my own Appeal for Breast Lift that I won and am waiting on new date for my surgery.

I will tell from someone who went through months of back pain and finally having a BR/lift--I NEVER would have believed anyone if I hadn't experienced it myself.  When I came out of recovery, I felt INSTANT relief!!!!!!  The back pain was gone immediately!!!!  They told me the same thing, and they had me so freaked out they weren't going to get enough for "insurance", but they did!  They took almost 1 1/2 pounds on one side and 1 3/4 pounds on the other.  Never regretted it for a second.

Good luck!  I too had tons of skin as well.

I was a 38F, but I had 2 post op babies in 2 years so then I was a 38L (long)!  The PS made me a 38C (full).  I just had so, so much extra skin.  I had lost 130 pounds with my RNY.

Yes, but they had me worried that they wouldn't get enough tissue.  When the surgery actually happended, they had no problem getting more than enough!

Insurance paid for the PS.
