I'm 60, but I was 58 when I had my surgeries.  I had a LBL, BL, arms, sm thigh... my surgery was almost 12hrs.  Dr Sauceda uses an epidural and twilight sedation.  4 days later I was in for 6hr or so for my neck and full facelift.  I didn't want general and wanted everything done at once.  I had decided not to have an UBL, but now I hate the loose back skin, so I'll be going back to Monterrey in Jan to get it fixed.  I was off for 8 weeks.

Denise,
I am like Chris, we both went with Dr Sauceda in Monterry Mexico because he uses an Epidural with Twilight sleep.  I have Malignant Hyperthermia - (as a nurse, I am sure you know what that is) and having a general scares me!  And actually makes Anesthesiologists very nervous!  With my LapBand, they were not happy.

I had the Anchor Cut TT, LBL and Thigh Lift with lipo - I was under over 11.5 hours and then had my facelift 3 days later - I was in the OR for 8.5 hours.  I wouldn't have done that much surgery if I had to have a General.  I also am 5-10!

12/09 and 6/11, 9 skin removal procedures with Dr. Sauceda in Monterrey Mexico
Revised to the Sleeve after losing 271 lbs with the LapBand.

OK so it came to my attn., after reading both of your posts, I'm a big baby. I never hurt so bad in my life as I did after this surgery. I did end up having 7 hernias repaired as well as bl w/ augmentation and inverted T tt. I was under 8 plus hours, and ended up being in the hospital an extra day, because I couldnt move, much less get up and walk, w/in 24 hours of surgery. I really thought I was going to die. Happy its over, but would never ever do it again.  Thanks so much for the info and help. Good luck to both of you. Denise

I had a lbl, bl with ba and an al all at one time. I am two and a half weeks out and am recovering well. I am tired so I move around and rest often. Other than that, things have gone smoothly. I feel like the second week was the hardest because I was up more moving and I had more swelling. Things are settling down now and I think if I had to go to a desk job, I would still need wt least another week before I could even think of it.
