Besides taking benadryl, anyone have any solutions for the itchy feeling that comes with the incision healing?
I've done the oatmeal baths in the past but can't do that since its only been 6 days post surgery.
Thanks in advance for any advice!

My surgeon didn't want me to put anything on the scar.

I used Benadryl as well as ice packs. Ice seemed to really squash the itchiness.
I usually put a thin towel between the ice pack and my incision.

Just remember not to pick at it, or actually itch it, you can pat it with your hand when it gets really bad.  It is part of healing, I just suffered through it.

I took the benadryl tablets because my surgeon didnt want me applying anything either, he said it interferes with the new skin cells. I put warm wet wash clothes on mine, really seemed to help and felt good to, Deb

Ask your PS if you can start taking your Vit E again.  It does help.  I also used lots of lotion on my tummy avoiding all the stitches.

I have hypertophy/hyperpignmentation/keloid issues, so my incisions usually get shot up with steriods to make them flatten and stop itching.

It's just my skin, genetics and nothing more.  Nevertheless, I will trade the sagging skin for a scar any day!
