I went into my surgery at 194 (had some feeling sorry for myself weight gain Pre surgery @ 10 pounds) the Sunday after my surgery I was 201. This morning at almost 3 weeks out I am 182 - one pound below lowest weight and I have tons more fluid to drop. As soon as I was done with the surgery I got right back on plan - keeping my protein high for healing. I don't know how much they removed during the surgery and they didn't weight it - but font be discouraged it takes at least 6 weeks to lose the majority of the fluids and the rest can take up to 6 months. Once Im healed I will be able to do all the exercising I couldn't so that will also be a huge push to continue my journey . Good luck to everyone and if you have any questions let me know :)

Be careful. Your metabolism is in hyper-overdrive right now. For me I could eat a TON post-plastics and lost a lot. But about the 2nd month out, it caught up to me and I had to cut back on my calories again.

Thanks for the advice but my restriction awesome again and I am back to "basics" feeling great. My only slip was the negative thing that if I during this complicated 6 hr surgery I'm having at least I'd remember what mint Oreos tasted like LOL soooo back on track for 3 weeks happily so.

My doctor said that the reason for lack of appetite and feeling full fast is because the swelling pushes on our pouch and gives us that fuller feeling. As the swelling goes down you will eat more so be careful.

The Compression Garment caused me to not be able to eat much!  Once the swelling left, I was able to eat a lot.  I lost weight, however due to my high metabolism.  But like Laura says, once that stopped, I started gaining weight and had to really watch myself!  Be careful not to return to bad habits.  It's easy to do AND very difficult to stop!

I was addressing all the questions people post about weight gain right after plastics and they are always disappointed when the font wake up 20 pounds lighter. I have lost weight since the surgery because I am eating right and the fluid gain is leaving my body. If we are at this point I would think we all get that we have made lifestyle changes that hold us to our good eating habits.
