If its not one comlication, its another... keeps getting better and better.
Well, it looks like one of my seromas might be infected
I swear, if its not one thing with this surgery, its another! The fluid thats coming out in my drain now is a horrible grayish, brownish, tanish color... the best that I can discribe it would be to say that it looks like a weird tea if that makes any sense. It certainly doesnt look healthy, thats for sure. I have been feeling a little more tired than usual as well, although its hard to distinguish if that could be because of infection, or because of the pain meds. I'm not running a temperature, but very rarely do I ever get a fever, even if i'm incredibly sick. My body temp has always run a few degrees below normal, so 98-99 is high for me. I cant tell if the drain site is red or not, because of the way that my surgeons office has the drain tube angled and bandaged up, and it doesnt feel terribly uncomfortable but that could be because of the pain meds as well, and the fact that most of that area is still pretty numb anyways.
I'm supposed to call my surgeons office on Monday anyways, so I'll just wait until then to tell them about the fluid color.
Guys, I think I'm losing my mind over here.... really, if its not one issue, its another. I really just feel like I'm never going to get better. I'm not sure how much more of this I can take.

And this is why Thank GD we now have forums to ask and complain on!!!
I wish you didn't have so nanyang glitches along this journey.
However I am happy you choose to post your experiences as this gives others knowledge on what to possibly expect.
I would call his service and see if they cannot contact him. Can you get someone to photograph each thing-seroma and its fluid color and then email or SMS it to your PS?

I don't have any medical advice but I just wanted to say how sorry I am that this has been so hard for you and I hope it keeps getting better every day. As you know, I've had some complications too but not as long and painful and I know how frustrating it is to not just be over this and healed already! Please let us know what the doctor says and keep visualizing healing and getting better!
RE: "I think I'm losing my mind over here.... "
Have you tried ice packs? Perhaps I didin't see that in your post. There's also something herbal my Mom used to swear by called Golden Seal, which is supposed to be antibacterial. You take this in a capsule or drink it as a tea. Run this by your doctor first, because many herbals interact with pharmaceuticals.
I can't even get a surgeon, so consider yourself blessed.
If I had a pile of money, I would have had my surgery, but when you start talking Medicare and Medicaid health insurance, even when it's medically necessary, nobody wants you, because they actually lose money doing your surgery. It may also be because reconstructive/plastic surgeons have a patient base that is typically well off.
Doctors used to be compassionate. What happened? I have never had to rely on public assistance until I was diagnosed with lupus and fibromyalgia, and now my excess skin has become a medical issue.
Maybe doctors just don't like me because I'm well educated and smart enough to do my research, and I come to consults with questions, instead of just passively accepting whatever.
That's what it feels like to me!
Hope it's not an infection, and you get relief soon!
