LBL and Inner thigh lift, any personal exeperience?

I recently had my 1st of 3 plastic surgery consultations.
This particular surgeon suggested a Lower Body Lifty with the inner thigh lift, to be performed at the same time. I would like to hear from anyone who has undergone this combination of surgery, pros & cons? It seems to be an awful lot to recover from.

I'm still in the stages of gathering information and going through surgical consults, so any input would be appreciated.

THANKS.

Almost a year ago, Dr Sauceda did an extended thigh lift with lipo, LBL with Anchor Cut TT and a full neck and facelift.  The body was one surgery on a Tuesday and the face was on Friday.  Dr Sauceda uses an epidural with twilight sleep and I really had no pain with the LBL/TT - the thigh lift only hurt where the lipo was performed.  The incision line didn't hurt.
I did fine.  I took it easy for 11 weeks and had no complications.  My results were amazing!

Two of the surgeons I've spoken with will only operate under general anethisia due having to rotate your body from front to back , putting one's breathing at risk.
I did mentiong the epidural with twilight and they both said no.

Anyway, He did say recovery time to go back to work is 2 1/2 - 3 weeks. with limitations on lifting.

Does that sound realistic ? I am in very good physical condition so that should help.

The other thing that worries me is not being to maintain my workouts. I know this is a recovery time, but what did you do to stay physical?

I know from my research that extended thigh lifts and LBL have the highest rate of complications.  Many have incisions open if they do too much too soon.  I think 3 weeks would have never worked far me.  I was in Mexico with my surgeon for 17 days and just had no energy and massive swelling.
I didn't work out at all until 8 weeks.  I really feared an incision line opening so I just took it easy.

Did you walk as much as possible, but other than that spend most of your time sitting.  What is recommended?

I didn't walk as much as possible until 8 weeks out. I did my activities of daily life. Grocery shopping, light house work, cooking, laundry  etc. at 8 weeks I started walking daily. I wore my full body compression garment 24/7 for 12 weeks and then all day everyday for 6 months. I really didn't want my incision to open. With the extended thigh lift, just walking puts a lot of pressure on your incision lines. I really wanted no complications.

Did you walk to reduce the risk of blood clots post op?  It sounded like you were active, though.  What is overdoing it?  What kinds of activities.  Incisions opening is concerning.  Do you think with great care it can be avoided, or is it something that can be expected?

I think as long as you are up and active you will be okay from DVT's. While in Mexico I went to the grocery store everyday and to the mall several times a week! I walked slowly and rested if I needed to. I work nights so sleeping during the day is easier and something I did. I would nap if I were tired. Exhaustion is normal. It truly is the sedentary person who needs to worry about blood clots. I avoided the wound complications by just not stressing the lines by walking too much, by squating or
Making careless movements. I slept upstairs and climbed the stairs many times a day but was very deliberate with my movement. I also couldn't bend over at the waist because of my LBL. The back incision also has to be protected. It is really a matter of being careful. Listen to your body. Rest when you are tired and don't force movements that feel tight against your incisions.

I had a LBL and Inner thigh lift done, but in separate procedures.  Dr LoMonaco posted here I think earlier this week about the pros and cons of doing them together or separately.  If I recall correctly enough to summarize, he said it depends on how much and where the skin is.  They are to be avoided being done together in most cases because the tension - the way the skin is pulled - in each procedure is in opposite direction of each other, so you may get less than ideal results, or you might be more prone to wound healing issues.  But he did say that depending on each individual they may be able to be combined.  If you search around here I be tou can find his explanation.

From personal experience, with just the :LBL, 3 weeks might be pushing it to go back.  You will still be swelling quite a bit and very tired.  It you really need to go back you can probably manage it, though.
