Overwhelmed

I am at a stand still now with my weight loss.  I have started to realize that I will need some plastic surgery to get the body I know exists in me.

This is so overwhelming to me for some reason.  I feel like this is just much more major than what I have done so far.  (lapband) But, I know that I need to do something.  I am starting to have issues with the folds.  I play roller derby and I dont want to give that up but the sweating is what is causing most my discomfort.

I am starting to do my reseach on doctors and my insurance.  I have insurance with United Health Care (jpmorgan) and found out that the will cover plastic surgery if, and only if it improves the function of something.  I am not totally sure what that means or how I can prove it improves function.  I am looking for a tummy tuck.

Is this something that most insurances have? If anyone else has this on thier insurance, will you let me know what you said or did to help you get it approved?

Thank you!

Hi. Congrats on your weight loss.  Insurance coverage can be tough, but check out my website for some useful information about getting approval:

Drop me a personal email at [email protected] if you'd perhaps like to speak or email with one of my "derby girlz" who also underwent WLS and then plastics with me.
