Does this look normal...6 days out, pics????
So bandages off today, I ventured to take a good look in the mirror, and while a lot of skin is gone, I still feel a little disappointed... the pucker at the top (I discussed this in a previous post today), and there still seems to be a lot of flab at the top, and on the sides. I know the TT wasn't going to cure my flabby hips and love handle area, but I thought it would have helped a little more.
I don't remember seeing many early post op pics before, how does this look? Am I crazy, or should I be disappointed? Is a lot of it swelling?
Thanks, Jenn

I have a few pics of this early out on my profile (also had the vertical cut) if you want to compare. Mine looked a little lumpy/bumpy early out and smoothed out nicely when the swelling went down.
I had a pucker in my arm pit after my arm lift. It was actually folded over..I was worried about that! But it completely went away on it's own in about 3 months. So wait and see. If it doesn't - I'd be asking about a revision.
It is also hard (even though we know better) not to expect to look like a super model when you're done!! lol. You have a nice, hour-glass waist - that's the good thing! You'll appreciate that more when the swelling goes down!

Hi Jenn:
I will be having the FDL TT next week and my doctor discussed with me about the possibility of having a small pucker up top. He said he would try to get it as flat as he can in the beginning and if it did not lay down that we would go back for a simple revision that he could do in his office a few months later to take care of any pucker that may be left. So don't worry if you need to go back and have it taken care of. It is just a part of this type TT. Also, I think you are dealing with swelling in your upper abs so I would definitely give that a few weeks to go down some. Try to relax and enjoy your results and remind me of this in a couple of weeks when I am freaking.

I have a pucker as well, but I think mine is from another reason. I had a pucker before surgery too. I believe mine is because of my lap band port. I'm not exactly sure if it's scar tissue or what. It got better with my surgery but it's still obvious. In my case, I look way better post op, so I am happy. I won't really wear a bikini because of that, but I'm good with that. I don't have a vertical scar, I wonder if that would have helped in my case. I would give yours time to see how it turns out once the swelling goes down. If your still not completely at that point you can discuss a revision. With all we go thru with time and money going thru this process, you want to be happy with your results.
Sorry - but can someone explain what the "pucker" is as I'm not seeing it....
Thanks!
Thanks!

MrsClaus-
It is a little hard to see in this picture because of the shadows, but if you follow the incision all the way to the top, do you see the area that is indented? It actually feels like a big soft lump of overlapping tissue. It's where the tissue comes together from the incision, but there is extra tissue from under the breasts that couldn't be taken in, so it creates almost a triangle effect, that is pretty pronounced right now, I am hoping it lays down and smoothes out with time.

Thanks for the comparison pictures. You look a lot tighter in yours. The surgeon warned me that they pull really tight during surgery, but are limited by 1) not wanting the incision to open up and 2) after a lot of yoyo dieting, having big babies, etc. my skin is used to stretching out, and that even if it was really tight right after surgery, it would lax up a bit in a couple days.
I am trying not to be disappointed, my insurance completely covered the cost, so it's not like I am out money. I guess I'll just have to wait and see how it looks in a couple months....
