Would I do it again????? Ask me in a few months but so far I would say absolutly not. The pain and discomfort from the TT has been terrible. It takes all my energy everyday just to get myself up, dressings changed , washed, drains drained, then a nap. Maybe some lunch then a nap, and thats how my day goes. Tomarrow I see the doctor, hopefully at least one drain will be taken out, they have really slowed down. I know its only been a week but OMG this is 10 times worse than my RNY. Make sure if your considering this to really do your research and talk to as many people as possible. Maybe IM just crabby, thats what my husband says anyway, haha

When I came looking on advice for my tt 9 out of 10 people said it was worse too, so of course I didnt believe the one person who said it wasn't that bad. But I have to say my tt wasn't bad at all, but I do think he could've taken a lot more off. Maybe that why everyone including u are in more pain, just maybe it's much tighter then mine. Just take it slow, don't over due ur self like me u will soon start to feel more energized I did around 2 to 3 weeks out. If u still feel week maybe ur lacking some vitamins. Wish u luck

Wow!!
Im having my TT Friday and I am afraid of the pain myself
Ive had RNY, a revision, my appendix out and 3 kids naturally- so I like to think my pain level is high
But I have heard lots of it being really bad pain- is it really that horrible??
I hope you have a speedy recovery and your pain level goes down a bit!

I like to hear it all, so I'm glad you are honest.  Just keep thinking about how FABULOUS you are going to look when it is done!

It's good when people post the bad part of their experience. That way others know what to possibly expect. I dealt with the no energy, and daily list of chores that were overwhelming. I would wake up in the morning and not want to get up because I knew I had to take a shower. It's not as easy at it sounds. Getting undressed, showered, bandaged, put garment back on, wash garment and make my bed. I would say it was a hour and half process every day. But as time went on I had more strength and it became easier. Once your incisions are healed more you can skip the bandaging part. I still put ointment but I didn't have to deal with the gauze part. I knew ahead of time I wouldn't be able to do much for weeks. I finally went back to work a little over a week ago. All the boredom, and lack of energy are just a memory. I hope you get to that point soon. If I was just a skinny person wanting a tummy tuck to reach perfection, I would definetly not do it. But I lost 120 pounds an my skin was in bad shape. Disfigured. So for me taking 8 weeks out of my life to get to a normal shape was totally worth it. I hope you like your results. It would be much harder if you went thru all this and aren't pleased with your results.

I understand that everyones pain level is differant but when I came out of surgery the middle of my stomach hurt so bad and thats from him tightening the muscles. I pushed that pain pump everytime the light was green for 2 days. Then I came home with liquid medication and everytime you take it you sleep for a couples hours which I guess is a good thing. Im hopeing once the drains are out I will feel alot better, they are very cumbersome. Right now I look like im about 6 months pregnant although can see that all that fat and skin are gone, it will take a while for the swelling and bruising to go away. He took 4.5 pounds off. Ya the daily chores is not fun, especially when you have to empty and messure the drainage. I know I will be ok and yes it will be worth it in the long run, I expected the worst and hoped for better, but!!!!!

Hang in there !!!
Thank you for sharing so honestly.
Yes there is the good with the bad.

Don't skimp on the pain meds... that is what they are for ... to be taken.
When taking them it enables you to do more walking, which helps.

I wish you the best and hope that this will all become a blur when you stare at yourself in the mirror.
