Give me advice - prepping for LBL in 1 month
Howdy folks.
I'm at the 1-month point for my lower-body lift - with a little gynecomastia removal. Wanted to see if anyone had any prep tips?
Not the procedural stuff - labs and physicals are all taken care of. Little things that were easy to forget about?
Deal is I'm supposed to have surgery on a Monday, I stay overnight, get a non-emergency ambulance service to take me to our extended stay place where I'll stay until Friday (it's close enough for surgeon to walk over to check on me).
I've read two books on post-bariatric plastic surgery and another book on healing from routine plastic surgery. What else can I do to prepare for this surgery? What's something important after surgery I'm not realizing now?

First good luck with the upcoming surgery.
I want to hear all about your experience as I am trying to decide if I should get the extended TT or the LBL myself. Pain and recovery time are the sticking points for me.
Second, You being a guy and all, I would think your protein should be closer to 120-130? If your doing the 5K training and all.
I could be wrong, you might want to check with the others on this.

Best wishes to you had mine just over two years ago if you have a recliner sleep in that I don't know why I didn't it is a little difficult getting in and out of bed rolling out always needing someone arm to pull yourself up but mine was pretty painless everyone is different when it comes to that . Be patient it is a big surgery it is like they are cutting you literally in half so give yourself time to heal I am so glad I did it
Yay Ruggie, this is gonna be great. Years ago i had some lipo done on lower body. Here is what I suggest:
get your pain meds and other meds filled before surgery so someone doesn't have to leave you alone to get them filled afterwards. include milk of magnesia or similar substance. take your favorite drinks and protein with you as it might not be readily available.
Hydrate plenty before and as much as you can after
get something really soft to lie on like a temperpedic or other foam pad. if you are a side sleeper, figure out how you are going to sleep on back or belly with extra pillows or a wedge pillow.
have plenty of books or games to entertain yourself and realize that dumbed down stuff might be all you feel like. Like trashy novels.
take some of those giant t shirts or other extra baggy stuff to lay around in.
have lots of friends you can call and chat with to give you something to do. I have the feeling you are not a person who likes to lie around doing nothing.
plan to go to salon to get your hair washed if you are supposed to stay out of shower for awhile.
explain to robomouse you will be gone for awhile but will be back so he won't worry.

yep, the milk of m is for the "C" word. can be an issue if you are on pain killers because they tend to make you plug up.
those memory foam pads are available at Bed Bath and Beyond. Also K mart and most any place that has linens. I sleep on one all the time. Hubby hates them (says they feel like you are sleeping in a marshmallow) so I have it for my side only. but they really do take the pressure off. I had a water bed when I had my lipo and that really helped but the memory foam does the same thing.
