I am ready to take the plunge and go for the tummy tuck or lower body life....found out the dr. that I really wanted does not take insurance any longer at all.... his office said that the insurance would accept the claims and then not pay~  That sucks...but oh well.

So if any of you have had great results from the Houston area I would love to hear....

Thanks
Sheila

Do you have before/after photos.  What did Dr. LoMonaco do?  He is my choice as well.

If you need to file with insurance, the doctors at Baylor, Dr. Rappaport @ Methodist Hospital, Dr. Lyos located at Scurlock Towers.  I had a consult w/Dr. Lyos for facial plastic surgery.  He wanted to give me a quote for an LBL.  He said he has good success with getting insurance approval.  Dr. Mentz, but I do not know if he takes insurance.  I think he does.  You can call his office.

Monterrey is a short flight from Houston.  Dr Sauceda really is an artist with our WLS bodies.  Everything at one time and you stay in a clinic with 24/7 care until you can be by yourself at the hotel for the rest of your 12 day stay.  Dr S comes daily to check up on you and his nurse Patty comes daily to help you shower and redress your stitches and get you back into your compression garments.  I was self pay and had a loan from my 401k.  You can click on Dr Sauceda in my siggy line for his group here.

Dr Sauceda will be in Las Vegas June 1st and 2nd and is available for consults.

As I traveled from outside the USA to use Dr. Lomanaco, I am not familiar with how the insurance works.  Is it possible to self pay for surgery with Dr. L and then be reimbursed by the insurance company (assuming that you have been approved for the procedure)?

I used Dr. L for two separate surgeries, LBL/BL and Thigh/arm/BA.  I found him to be professional and caring, endlessly answering my questions and concerns.  The results of his work are outstanding and I sincerely believe that the best possible results for my body were achieved by emloying his skill and talent.  I deemed him to be so worthwhile that I willing incurred the extra $4000 in travel and hotel expenses necessary to work with him.  Twice.

I know there are other excellent surgeons out there but I would strongly recommend that you evaluate any options that might let you use Dr. L.  You're lucky enough to be in the city with one of the best post MWL plastic surgeons in the world. It would be great if you could use him but I know that financial constraints can be a nightmare.

Good luck to you.

Have you posted post thigh lift photos.  I am still doing research.  Dr. L is my choice, hands down.  I am thinking about having a resurfacing procedure by a facial plastic surgeon he recommended and going ahead and having the LBL if I can get the results from the laser procedure that will allow me to postpone a face lift for a few more years. I know the laser will not lift my deflated, fallen cheeks.   I have a consult at Baylor College of Medicine in June  - their Residency program.  I just do not know how I feel about that considering this is such an extensive procedure.  My consult with Dr. L was great.  You are correct.  He spends a lot of time answering questions.

I haven't added the thigh or arm lift photos yet. I healed much better this time around because Dr. L used special removable stitches rather than absorbable ones (my body hates stitches).  I have to post the photos but have been waiting since I seem to be in that red/purple phase of scar healing and didn't want to frighten anyone with the coloring of the scarlines.

I'm glad to hear everything went well.  I am moving closer and closer to scheduling with him.  Your posts, and other who have used him, reinforce my desire to use him.
