Cyst Removal and Tummy Tuck

During a CT scan looking for a possible kidney stone a 3" mass was found on my ovary. After almost 2 weeks of testing and Dr's it appears not to be cancer...scariest 2 weeks ever!

So since I have to have it removed I am just now suddenly pursuing a tummy tuck in conjuction with the removal of the mass (which they believe is a dermoid cyst) I have been at goal weight since last year but I didn't plan to have any surgeries for a couple more years, but by doing them together I am hoping my insurance will cover most of the cost of the surgery. I have visits with a plastic surgeon and OBGYN next week that both have surgery rights in the same hospital, both are aware I want the surgery together.

Anyone else have 2 surgeries at once?

I am having two surgeries on the 17th together.  My general surgeon is going to fix my two hernias and my plastic surgeon is going to do a Fleur de Lis Tummy Tuck.  I am paying for my plastics but my insurance is covering my hernia surgery.  My doctors have worked together at this hospital before.  I feel confident in both of them to do a good job for me.  I am glad your cyst was not cancerous.  Waiting on that kind of news can be heart wretching.  Good luck on your consult next week.

Wow.  I know where you're coming from.  I had a large ovarian mass removed a couple of years ago (15 lbs!). So glad yours isn't cancerous.  (mine was, but all is well now)  Because of that surgery, I now have a huge ventral hernia.  I also need breast reconstruction from my mastectomy a few years ago.  My plastic/reconstructive surgeon is going to fix my hernia, remove my lower abdomen and make a new breast out of it, and tuck my tummy/tighten abdominal muscle.  As of now this is all scheduled for August, and I am hoping insurance will pay for all of it in my case.  I'm still waiting to hear.  Not quite your situation, since one surgeon will do it all, but I hear coordinating two surgeries is quite common.  Best of luck to you!
