Anyone have info on Mexico Plastic Surgeon Victor Ramirez?
I have seen the info about Kim Kardashian, as well as, countless information about her attorney's threatening to sue him for false advertising. Dr. Ramierez then withdrew the advertising, stating it was his error. I literally cannot find one person who has had surgery w/Dr. Ramirez, but am hoping someone has some info. I have seen all the info for Dr. Saucedo and have contacted him already. At this point, I just am looking for good, bad or indifferent info on Dr. Ramirez.
I received a very low quote for all the work I want, through Global Medical Tourism with Dr. Victor Ramirez at Hospital Quirurgico del Valley hospital in Mexicalli. Thus, I want to at least see if I can get some more information from others. Obviously, I am like others, I want both a feasible cost and a quality surgeon...not just a cheap cost.
When I had gastric bypass surgery in 2004, I had the very worst case scenario. Within 48 hrs, they had to induce a month long coma aftter I developed acute pancreatitis, had a pulmonary emoblism, etc. etc. It was a very long road to recovery, so believe me, I will research the hell out of any surgeon.
Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to respond.

Spurredhal,
I totally understand where you are coming from, especially after developing so many major problems after your gastric bypass.
I have had 2 phases of surgery with Dr. Sauceda. I felt his prices are more than fair, and you could NEVER be in better hands with him and his team of professionals. From the very minute that I met him he made me feel like I was family. His work is INCREDIBLE ! The after care is AMAZING, far more superior than one could find in the States. His work is top notch.
THERE IS NOT A DAY THAT GOES BY THAT I DONT GIVE A THANK YOU TO DR. SAUCEDA FOR THE AMAZING WORK HE HAS DONE ON ME. HE HAS CHANGED MY LIFE !!!

The cheapest price isnt always the best price. I had my surgery in the US but mostly everyone on this site uses Dr. Sauceda in MX .if they all use Dr. S and not Dr. Ramierz there must be a reason . I have never heard of anyone using him on this site before.
sometimes u get what u pay for
but Good Luck

Hi Max,
Have you considered a residency program in the U.S.? There are a lot of people on the Net, and several on this board who have used them and had great results. The surgeons in the programs are already surgeons before going into the programs to complete their plastic surgery training, and often, the person who operates is a very well-experienced surgeon. They are generally located in good, teaching hospitals, so you should be safe there if complications such as the ones you mentioned do arise.
Here is a list that I put together, but there are many other resideny programs around...

I had a facelift in Costa Rica at CIMA hospital six weeks ago, and it was a great experience. I'm having a tummy tuck in Pensacola, FL on June 7th. I decided to stay in the U.S. for the tummy tuck because they are more prone to complications that need followup care down the road. However, I did see many people at the Costa Rican recovery ranch who appeared to do fine with their tummy tucks, arms, and other body work.
I have some recent quotes and photos from a couple of surgeons from Costa Rica if you are interested. I'd just PM them to you rather than posting here since they are surgical photos of people that I don't know (who probably would not appreciate me posting their nude photos online).
You should try http://www.plasticsurgeryjourneys.com/ for info on out of country surgeons. It's sort of a dead site these days, but there is a lot of info there on Mexican surgeons and other (as well as pics). Also, makemeheal and realself have some great info.
Good luck with your search!

I have spoken to a former patient of Dr Ramirez and she's very pleased with the results. She said Dr Ramirez doesn't speak good English, but he surrounds himself with bilingual staff. She and I have had several conversations and I'm totally at ease with my upcoming surgery. I am scheduled for Monday (Jan 20, 2014), so once I'm back on my feet, I'd be happy to report back and let you know how it went.
