Yeah, I don't mind so much with him not using the implants. I'm worried about the vertical cut. I guess I should have asked if everyone got that vertical scar and how it healed.

It is called the "lollipop" cut. Vertical line and then around the areolar. That is what is very typical with a large lift. Many have this type of lift. Do you scar with keloids?

Nothing huge but my scars don't necessarily heal "flat". African Americans are more likely to keloid from studies I've read.

I don't scar well either but not what they would call keloids. You're right you have to have the lollipop cut or the shape will be really bad. It really makes a great result. The scar hopefully for both of us won't be too unsightly.

What does your DS scar look like? If you didn't keloid then, you probably won't.

those are keloids!  I get them too.  I have to put paper tape on my TT scar for 6 months to try to avoid that.
I would for sure get another opinion. , perhaps two.

good luck to you

This link shows a keloid. My sister gets them and they are much bigger than the ones she is showing here. A keloid is the over growth of scaring. I had scars that looked exactly like that the op and my ps said they are not keloids. I just scar thicker than most. A keloid looks like the picture I found online.
I am not trying to be argumentative but it is something I discussed at length with all 4 plastic surgeons I consulted with. The 3 I didn't use and the one I did. In fact, my Lapband scar was purple and thick even 3 years out.

Jujuvee, is it rare for plastic surgeons to do that - using your own fat?  I'm wondering what my chances are of finding someone locally who does that.?  Thanx!

I think it is common but it's important that your surgeon is skilled and familliar with the procrdure. I bet you will have no trouble finding someone in your area.
