Breast Questions....

I thought I pretty much knew what I wanted when I went in for my consultation on Monday. I didn't want to bother my lower body because I know I'm still losing but I'm ready for my arms to be corrected and my breasts. My thoughts were an arm lift and breast lift/breast augmentation combo. Apparently the doctor (who has been doing this for a VERY long time) agrees on the arms but thinks we should go a different route for the breast.

He says no to the implants and believe we should use my own sagging skin to do the lift. I would be ok with this but I've seen some not so "what I want" breasts that were done without implants. He says the implants would look good for a few months but due to the lack of elasticity in my breast area now that it wouldn't last. I wanted a small under the breast scar and the way he wants to do it I will have the scar that runs from the bottom of the breast up to the nipple. I didn't want that.

Is there anyone that may have lost upwards of 160lbs that have had a lift/implant combo that has been successful for more than 3 months??!! Unless I'm going crazy I know I've read many satisified stories here.

HELP???!!!!!

I think you should consult with some other doctors. I have lost 130 pounds and my doctor agreed with me that I needed both a BL/BA. And that's what I wanted. If you want a BA with your BL, I would consult with other surgeons to find out what their opinion is.

Did you already have your procedure? If so do you have the cut from your bottom to nipple?

My surgery is scheduled for 5/16.  He is planning to cut around the nipple as well as a vertical incision and one at the fold. I guess that's considered an anchor cut.

Now that I think about it, I may be worried for nothing. There has to be that vertical cut otherwise how would they take away the extra skin???

I don't have experience with this. But I would suggest maybe getting a couple more consultations. Even if you don't plan on using these surgeons you can ask that same question to them. I had the opposite senerio. I originally only wanted a lift, but my surgeon suggested to get the rounded shape I needed implants. I went with his advise and am very happy. One other thing I can say, I am 9 weeks out and have the vertical scar from the bottom of the breast to the nipple. Out of all my scars I have(arms, tummy, thighs, and other parts of the breasts) the vertical scar leading to the nipple is the thinnest and least noticeable scar I have. I have also heard lots of people here who only had a lift and had great results. I don't know how much weight loss they had.

It is that vertical scar that I'm worried about. I could go without the implants if he thinks it best. I just am afraid of the way the scar is going to heal. Honestly the doctor is a great surgeon with a great reputation and many years of experience. The price is WONDERFUL from what I've heard of other surgeons. I just am curious if most people have the vertical scar.

I've lost over 200 pounds and my breasts were in really bad shape (pics on my profile, if you want the password PM me). For women like me with long folds, my surgeon does them in 2 stages. They stay up better that way. I had the lift 10 months ago and am paying off that round before I get the implants.

Yes, if you don't mind sharing the password I'll compare them to mine. Right now the best word to describe them is flat.

Good luck qith which ever rourt you choose, I am choosing to use my own back fat to ad volumn to my breasts. I read that implants have to be replaced at some point and after this round I cannot afford to have anymore ellective surgeries.  Plus I think I like the idea of using my own fat.. But you should definitely get what YOU want!
