Having arms done while overweight?

I want to wait for TT, LBL, et****il I am at a stable weight but I am so ready to have my arms done.   Between my weightloss and strength training my shoulders, back, and arms look fantastic but I have huge bat wings.  If it were't the bat wings I could be rocking the tanks and spagetti straps this summer.  So, I am thinking about having my arms done this winter so I can wear the cute stuff next spring.   Has anyone done arms while still oerweight?

Thanks!

What is your workout?  How often do you go to the gym?  Did you see any improvement in your triceps at all?  Also, if am not being too personal, how old are you.  I am wanting to hire a personal trainer.  I need the motivation and structure to help get me started.

Hi.   I workout with my trainer M-W-F and then do some sort of fun cardio-ish thing one day on the weekend (biking, long beach walk, etc).   He switches my workout up a lot to keep it interesting and to make sure every muscle group get****    I have seen major improvement with my triceps but there is just too much flabby skin..I'd have to have Arnold Schwarznegger arms to take up all of that skin.  LOL

Hiring a personal trainer is probably the best move I have made next to having WLS.  He keeps me motivated, encouraged, and accountable. My original plan was to hire him for 3 months to get me started and then I'd go on my own.  I have since decided to retain him indefinitly.  :)

Oh, I am 50 but don't tell anyone!  .  Funny thng is, I feel better today than I did when I was 40!

Thank you so much.  You are having amazing results.  I am soon to be 57, and I too feel better than I did when I was in my 40s. Most of my exercise has been walking.  I have put in some gym time but not much.  Years ago I lost a lot of weight and spent 3 hours per day in the gym working out hard.   I don't know if it is my age or if the gym represents failure for me, but I cannot get motivated.  That is why I want a trainer.  They are just so expensive for only a few sessions, and I know one round will not be enough for me.  I feel if I had hired one and spent time in the gym all along I would be farther along with my results.  I've had several plastic surgery consults.  My butt and thighs are among my  biggest problem area.  The surgeon told me to get into the gym and start doing squats.  I appreciated his honesty.  With all your training, when you do have plastic surgery you will have great results.

I am fortunate in that I like in a small town so price tags for things like trainers are not that high.  I pay $300/month which works out to about $25 per hour.  Honestly,  I feel like the results I am getting are priceless! :)     Maybe you can work out a deal with a trainer where you meet him/her once a week but on a long term basis. That might cut the rate down.  :)

You can do that if you want, but for your best result you need to wait. I had my arms done early after my 250 lbs lost, but I knew I would be having it done again. If you are ok with a revision later and have the money to do it twice, go for it. My arms needed a revision after losing another 40.

I was afraid you'd say that.   It is just so frustrating to have these kick-ass shoulders, back, and arms and have to hide them under 3/4 sleeves all summer.

Congrats on your amazing loss!!

Well, I enjoyed sleeveless for about 3 months and then lost the weight and had to return to long sleeves. I am returning to surgery in January for my revision.

I think that the arms are the main place that you should probably wait to do until your weight-loss is complete. Many surgeons will tell you that the arms are one of the hardest places to get satisfactory results.  You probably wouldn't be happy with them if you weren't done losing weight.  Also, you will probably have to have a revision if you don't wait.  It is a personal decision, of course, but I would suggest waiting and using this as a motivation to get to goal quicker. :) Good luck!
