Hello everyone!  Finally getting brachioplasty in 2 days with lipo of flanks and stomach.  Insurance was denied on arms but I am moving forward.
A littlebit nervous.  My surgeon says for me to wear sompression garments for 4 weeks.  There won't be any drains.  Just wondering what other preparations i will need for post op.
Also, can anyone tell me when I will be up and going?  how long I will be out of commission?
Any tips would be appreciated.
Oh, and last.  when did everyone start managing scars on arms?  any creams or scarguard and at what time in the healing stage?
Thanks!

Hi, i would basically just get your house in order. Meals prepped, laundry done, house cleanned, full tank of gas ect...  You probably won't be driving right away, but when you are ready you won't want to fill it up. I kept a plate, bowl, drinking glass ect all out on the counter so I wouldn't have to reach the higher shelves right away.  I had several procedures at once so it's hard to say how long you will be out of commission. But even with all my surgeries I till walked, showered ect myself the next day with no problem. I don't think I washed my hair for a few days. I put a neosporin ointment on my scars and gauze the first few weeks. Once they were healed and stitches were out I started with vitamin E oil and cremes and silicone strips. I think maybe week 4 or so. I think with just our arms being done you will be fine and heal up fast. Good luck.

I had my arms done Mon. of last week along with TT revisions.  I stayed overnight in the hospital and was up walking(with help) to the bathroom the same day.  Wasn't allowed to shower until Fri.  but managed to shower that afternoon with no help.  I'm supposed to wear compression sleeves but my arms are still too swelled to make this comfortable.  Went to Wal-Mart with hubby today and felt pretty tired after.  Making progress!
  Good luck with your surgery!
