items I should have when I come home from BL/BA
I had multiple procedure but bl/ba was one of them. My surgeon had me wear a compression garment which he provided for he first 6 weeks. But honestly I don't know if the compression garment was more for my arms and stomach. But for the last two weeks I have been wearing those genie bras and I love them. My breasts are lifted on there own now, but the genie bras just give it a little support. I just cleaned out my closet yesterday and tried on all my old bras. I tossed the ones that don't fit. I will probably get properly measured and buy a few cute ones in a month or so. I also read that front closer bras are a must at first.

I had a BL/BA 8 weeks ago. I was given (ha ha - I'm sure I paid for) 2 surgical bras. I also bought 2 camisole style sports bras by Champion at Target. They have a wide, very soft band and were pretty comfortable. The were stretchy enough that I could pull them up over my legs/hips rather than over my head. You will want either button front or zip shirts, at least the first week or 2.
Some things you may consider doing:
* Put frequently used things at counter height as reaching high and low can be uncomfortable.
* If you buy gallons of milk/water or laundry soap, you may want to put some in smaller containers to make it easier.
* Child proof prescription bottles are nearly impossible to open! Either change out the caps or put your meds in something else.
* You will be sleeping on your back. Either in a recliner or raised up in bed. I didn't have a wedge pillow, so I stacked several. The first horizontal as usual, then 2 side by side vertical, then another horizontal. It worked great! It was 2-3 weeks before I felt comfortable on my side.
here's a great resource:
