Awhile back, someone asked a question about compression after a brachioplasty, and I wrote that my doctor didn't have me use one. A few people criticized the competency of my surgeon over it. My surgeon has done hundreds of post bariatric patients so I never doubted him, but it's nice to see that it's just a surgeon preference and a reason for it. I didnt have any issues not wrapping my arms or using compression, and they've healed wonderfully

While its not wrong to use compression garments, you have to be a little careful about ones on the arms and legs as you can create some real problems if they're too tight and constrict circulation. IF you have a real tight bachioplasty closure and you put a real tight garment on you can produce a tourniquet on the hand circulation or kill the skin at the incision from pressure. It's a bit of a balancing act between wrapping to help early swelling and the risks associated with the pressure.
