My extended Full Abdominoplasty is scheduled for May 10th!  Less than a month away - my pre-op is next Wednesday.  Of course I have a million worries.  I'm 26 and self pay.  I keep getting it from both sides - some say I should wait and some say go for it.  Well I'm young and want to enjoy my body now... my worry is I have unrealistic expectations.  My surgeon has showed me before and after pictures and they're amazing - I cant help but feel mine isn't going to turn out how I envision it... I see him next week at my pre-op and I'll be addressing these concerns.

So how long were you in the hospital?  Mine is supposed to be outpatient.
How long were you off of work?

What expectations did your surgeon give?  I would think because of your age you would have really good results.  The surgeon I am considering gave me realistic expectations for my age.  Not what I wanted but realistic.  He too showed me photos, but he was honest.  The one that was the most remarkable he too said he wished all his patients turned out that way, but that one had the perfect genetics and cir****tances going into surgery.  After that consult, I realized my expectations were unrealistic, and I needed to deal with that.

Congrats on your upcoming surgery...I know you must be very excited.

Hello, I am self pay. I just posted that I too do not feel that I have realistic expectations. However, I am 41 and my stomach looks like a bomb went off. I am just wanting to be able to wear jeans and look good in clothes. I want to go from a size 12-14 to an 8. All of my skin and fat is in my tummy. The rest of me is a tooth pick.  I am not sure what your tummy looks like or how much weight you lost, but if your tummy causes you to think about covering it up all the time when you are or are not in public, then the call is yours. I must spend so much time thinking about keeping my tummy covered while in public. Because I am a tooth pick, I look 9 months pregnant (no joke) so it is emberresing. My doctor said I should have good results but I am not expecting that my results will be that of someone ten years or more younger than myself. YOu will do great. How much does your tummy bug you??

i am paying for a night in the hospital. most TT are outpatient nowadays. I opted for an overnight stay because my ten year old is autistic and I want to get myself under control before I go home looking like a wreck. She will be way to upset.

SIncerely
