Hi, I will be 8 weeks out this week. My generic instructions from my dr is I can resume working out at 8 weeks. My insicions look pretty good, I just don't want to put any strain on them to early. Btw I had everything done, tt,bl/ba,arms,thighs and neck. Just wondering how long you waited and do you wish you would have waited longer?

Walking on the treadmill I was back @ 3 weeks. For full workouts and weight training it was 7 weeks but I didn't get my last drain out until I was 6 weeks out for my LBL and Brachio. For my thighs and bl/ba it was 6 weeks w/ Dr.'s approval on both.

Walking at the gym ~16 days post-surgery.  No running, that won't be for another week or two.

I am 8 weeks post op from my LBL and I haven't gotten clearance to do anything but walk yet. I'm sure a lot of that has to do with the seroma issues though. I have heard that 6-8 weeks is pretty standard for resuming all pre op activities.

Thanks for your input. I was thinking of starting easy like walking, but I'm not real movitaed to just walk  Not sure yet but I might wait another week just to be safe.

Do what you can...I would walk if you can.  Part of healing is actually loosening up those muscles from surgery.

I had a lower body lift, tummy tuck and breast augmentation on 3/2 and was cleared for all normal activities after four weeks so I was back to working out with my trainer 2x a week.  He has had several clients over the years who have had some form of body contouring and he knows what exercises to avoid.  i.e. butterflies are out with a boob job, pretty much forever.  Instead of doing push ups, he has me do planks.

I still don't have my usual stamina during my workouts, but he's been gradually stepping it up.  My first time back we only did 30 instead of 45 minutes and it was a lot of testing to see how much weight I could handle.  I did fine, what I discovered was that I had to regain confidence in myself and my body.  After being told not to lift anything more than 5# for a month, I was freaked out when he handed me a 16# medicine ball - but I didn't have any problems or pain.

I guess the short answer is if you use a trainer, make sure he's aware of all you had done.  If not, be sure to ask your surgeon which exercises you should absolutely avoid.
