Good Follow Up - But Still Swollen

Day 12 post surgery, still have the band around the gut and the doc tightened it to a new level today.  OOF!  But it's definitely helping with the swelling and hopefully I will be a bit farther along in three weeks (next follow up).

Cleared to start walking again, and he really apparently tightened might abs to my ab wall, hence the pain I have in my hips.

Nothing really to complain about, but I'm just damn impatient.  Thank goodness for minimally invasive surgery!!!

Glad to hear that you had such a good appointment! I can relate to the impatience thing, but Its really going to be worth it when you see your final result!

Hang in there, its rough for a couple of weeks but you will get back into the swing of things. I was back to work in 5 weeks doing everything I did before. Best of luck to you.

Thanks everyone, I guess the biggest surprise was my impossible expectation level of me.  The incision is 32" long and to be upright, walking, and now thinking of getting back into my normal exercise routine is amazing at this point.

Big question is...where my new waistline will be.  I was used to wearing my pants near my belly button and now that it's been moved up...there's no way I can wear my pants that way.  Looks like I'm going clothes shopping once the swelling is down....

You need to learn about patience, because honestly my tt swelled moderately for atleast a year, not every day but some days far worse then others.  And even now 6 years later I cannot tolerate certain things touching my stomach, like a thin belt around my waist forget it.  I can only wear very thick belts tightly around my waist.  It took two years before I wasn't aware of actual swelling except for the occasional bloated feeling.  Having a tt is life altering, you will see what I mean.  In a very good way, but in some ways you never expect.  I never regained feeling around my incision, and I don't itch where the itch feels like it is.  Its very strange in that regard.

Good Luck
