Update on my swollen from TT!!!
Wow...sorry. I keep hoping to read a post from you saying that you are on the mend. Are you getting LOTS of protein?? The reason that I ask is that even when I am not having surgery swelling (before surgery, I mean), I swell and retain water if I don't make sure to get plenty of protein. This just started happening for me after my distal revision. Surgery is so stressful, and we need much more protein after surgery, so if you are not getting at least 100 grams a day you might want to try increasing your protein intake and see if that helps you heal.
There was a lady in Costa Rica who had lost 180 pounds after bypass surgery. She did not bring any protein powder, and was having really bad trouble with healing because of swelling and incisions not wanting to close (she used a different doctor than I did, and had way too many things done at once). I gave her some protein powder that I had brought with me, and she noticed an almost immediate improvement in both her swelling and the healing of her incisions. It really does help greatly, and it sure won't hurt to try it and see if it makes a difference for you. Feel better soon.
