I got a new belly button and I love it! My surgeon sewed up my old one and I am told by all of the nurses that he is such a perfectionist and spent a LONG time creating my new belly button. I honestly didn't know this could/would happen until right before surgery so kudos to you for doing your homework. Getting a new belly button is so bizarre to me that it is my favorite part of the plastic surgery story to share with friends and family. Good luck!

My PS is on vacation right now until May; I want to ask him when he gets back. His partner told me I got half of my old belly button and half a new one. I don't know what the heck this means. I'll wait until my surgeon gets back.

I was hoping he would make me a new one because my old one had an ugly scar where they curved around it for my vertical c-section. Looks like the scar is gone. Plus my belly button piercing hole is gone. The belly button is still healing and is goopy and creeps me out.

That part is going really slow, as is my pressure wound on my tailbone. Everything else is really healed up, and at 5 weeks my lollipop incision on my breasts is already almost invisible! Just a tiny pink line. That is exciting!

My LBL scar is a purple color but nice and low. My nurse friend told me that's because there was a lot more pressure on that scar.

I never thought to ask about the belly button when I got my lower body lift in 2006. I kept my old stem, but it was put in a new hole when the skin was pulled down. It is sort of vertical oval. It took me the longest time to accept that it is in the right place -- I kept thinking it was high, but it is not.  I sort of love it, actually. Never thought I'd see it! I was tempted at first to get a belly ring, but I'm afraid of infection, and being 57.... I guess I don't really need to do that.

I think Dr. Sauceda kept my old BB but moved it to a lovely  new spot.  It's absolutely adorable! Now that it's not buried in fat, it's a cute circle.  If I stick my stomach out as far as I can, it kind or becomes an outie. How funny is that!

I actually asked Dr S to not give me one!  I wanted to get a tatoo of the NM Zia Symbol with the Columbine flower!  BUT he insisted he could save my original and just move it up!  He did and it looks fine!
