Just an FYI:  I don't post a face pic because I have no idea how to do it.  While I am tech competant with many things, the whole photo thing has never been one I grasped well.

I understand, I don't friend men, I don't feel it is appropriate for me given my plastics pics.

I'm glad you wrote this.  I feel the same way and have friended people who do not have an avatar photo of themselves.  I am always hesitant but don't want to appear rude.  I think going forward I'm adopting your approach to this.

I totally understand.

I always review the folks that send me friend requests, and if they do not have profile info, I do not accept.  I generally only send friend requests to those with whom I share the same way of thinking, or those for whom I have great respect.

I wont even go into my criteria for making my block list!  That is a whole bunch of crazy that needs to be voted off the island.

I am sending you one today!  I have tons of pics.  I am a bit off center, a natural born Louisiana coonass, and I love each day and appreciate each one as a gift.  I can promise when I'm laid to rest there will be skid marks leading up to the casket!

Hugs, and have a great day!

That is not an unreasonable request. I know once I have my PS, my profile will be password protected to keep away the pervs.

I feel the same way and I used to have my face pic avatar and a publicly open profile with tons of before/after pics....but after the FACEBOOK thing, I took off my avatar pic and made my profile pics only visible to friends...I felt that here on OH, I was comfortable and wanting to inspire like-minded people like others had done for me...but now I really hate the idea of all acquaintenances and old boyfriends/friends from facebook knowing I had WLS....and with PS being even more personal and with revealing pics, I would definitely password protect if I do get plastics done & share pics....

Everyone has to do what is comfortable for them, and really once it is on the internet, it is out there for good....and unfortunately, already too much personal info is easily gained about us...

I agree as well.  I'm not so hung up on the avatar - but I need to know WHO the person is and why they want to be my friend.  Usually won't friend unless I've seen them post multiple times.

AND I won't add unless they leave a message.  I figure, if you can't be bothered to ask nicely to see my PS pics or read my blog, you don't need to be my friend.

I also go through my friends list every couple months and delete any friends that I don't really know in person.  I figure once those people have seen my pics, they don't need to go back...so they don't need to be on the "list".

I get many friend requests from people with no picture, no message, no posts, no content on their page etc.  I don't message them, I just deny the request.  I figure if they don't take the time to write to ME, I don't need to explain by writing to THEM.
