Tramadol is what I'm normally prescribed for my back pain. I know that just one ibuprofen would be wonderful but like you, I dont want an ulcer!  Tramadol works REALLY well for my pain but I dont like to take it often because it sets off my OCD believe it or not.  I also get confused as all get out, I went to brush my teeth one night after taking it and ended up cleaning the very top of the refrigerator O_o

I hope you can ease up on the hydrocodone soon, I know how that is! hate hate HATE it!

The best pattern I have found so far is Hydrocodone in the AM and afternoon and maybe one early evening....then sleep without it.  Halflife of the drug is four hours so if I can take my last dose about 6-8 hours before I get to bed, I get a good night's sleep.

And today....got to lie on my side for about a half hour!  That was wonderful!

Whoo hoo! Isn't changing positions the best??? :D  I still don't sleep through the nights though as I wake up every time I try to move in my sleep. Anything is better than being stuck on your back for hours on end though. I found my back was causing so much discomfort too. Now I can move around but like I said, I wake up from it though.
