How many of you went with first doctor you consulted with
I went with the one and only one that I interviewed! I knew exactly what I wanted, had seen his work and when I met him, I just knew he was the one! I also drove 90 minutes to get to him , so it wasn't the most convenient....but he was the best in my opinion. And I am thrilled with the results he gave me.
I know that they say to get three consults. I am also a RN and do know of several PS in my area but I wasn't impressed with any of their work. This was a once in a lifetime thing for me so I wanted to do it right.
good luck to you
Patty

I only consulted with one and went with him. He spoke at our WLS support group one month and I knew he had worked with my surgeon for 20 years. A friend of mine is an OR nurse who also worked with him many times. Told me he was difficult to work with but his work was exquisite. Finally the woman I go to for bioidential hormones used to be the top breast cancer surgeon in town and she also worked with him for 15-20 years. I prefer to get the "inside scoop" from those who work with him in the OR - patients can be too picku or emotional. That being said, my first time in seeing him, another patient in the waiting room asked if I'd met him yet then told me how amazing he was. She interviewed 7 surgeons in Dayton-Cincy-Columbus and was thrilled with her decision to go with Dr Rigano.
I admit, he's a little quirky, doesn't seem to understand or respect personal space issues, but he's got such a good reputation in town I was willing to tolerate his quirks. Turns out one of my breasts isn't settling right and I may have to have a revision and he's quite upset that I'll be the first one this year. I could probably live with it, but he's a perfectionist and I deserve his best work.

I went with the first and only surgeon that I consulted with. He showed me several samples of his work, took plenty of time out to explain the procedure to me, and everything just clicked. It felt right to go with him. I'm not six weeks post op, and I'm thrilled with my decision to choose Dr Lickstein.

Thank you all for your replies. I have researched the doctor that I am having my first consult with tomorrow and unless we do not click, I really feel he will be the one for me. I have talked with his staff and read all the reviews onlines with prior patients and I really feel a connection with him. I will let you all know tomorrow have things go. Thanks again.
