Starting my research
I've been reading here for a while and have scheduled my first consult. I am really not unhappy with the way I look or the extra skin. What I am unhappy about is continuing to get gross infections in my cavernous 6 inch navel! I'm pretty athletic, and anytime I sweat it just turns into a swamp in there!
I don't want to spend the rest of my life dealing with it, so I'm going to see what can be done. Also, I've worked out for almost 4 years now.......I'll bet I have a 6 pack under that skin!
I'm going to check on everything from just skin removal on the stomach, to TT to LBL. If I grab all the way around my body, I do have quite a bit of extra skin, but luckily on the backside it kind of hangs in the right spot and gives the appearance of a J LO booty....if I get it cut off, I'll have no butt at all!!
You have helped me so much already in preparing for this next phase.........WISH ME LUCK!

Good luck, Kim.
I had a tummy tuck 3 weeks ago (hip to hip incision -- about 2 inches past on each side).
My doc said that when he got in there, that I had the firmest abdominal muscles he has seen in 30 years --- not sure how that happened -- LOL.
I walk and hike a bunch -- and I sit on a big ball at my desk ---so, I think that really strengthened my core -- but I never do ab work.
He did a line of sutures down the mid-line and then one about 2 inches over on each side -- so I look like I have a really nice 6-pack already.
He uses 'progressive tension suturing' -- I had no drains and had a pain pump inserted that lasted for about 2 days post-op. I have had very little discomfort.
I am wearing my pre-op size 8 capri's today ---
I am thrilled with the results -- the muffin-top that was above my belly button is gone, the 'slab of flab' that was below my belly button is gone --- my mons were lifted -- and my upper thighs even look a bit better.
No regrets at all ---- hope you get the same!!

Kim,
I have seen a number of presentations from PS and seen the different techniques used. I would say look at the difference between someone that does a plain Beltectomy(sp) versus another technique.
In Atlanta we have Dr. Lincenberg that does Fluer De Lis style cut where the skin is tightened in all directions. He has some of the best work I have everseen and he tries and with a great deal of success places the cuts where scar tissue will be hidden based on clothing.
He specializes in Post Weightloss Plastics
