Are you happy with your butt?!
Thanks Joanne!
I was going to try to take a pic with my black yoga pants to see if the bump/flap shows up on the pic.

I had a LBL and am satisfied with the results on my butt. Ideally, I would have like for me rear end to look entirely different, but plastic surgery doesn't give us the butt of a sports illustrated model just the best version of our "natural" butt.
My rear end prior to surgery reminded me of a sharpei, post op it is relatively smooth. It is flat. Dr. Lomonaco warned me that my rear end would be quite flat and offered to do auto-augmentation. As I understood it, he would make two fat patties and position them under the skin that was pulled up to help plump out my butt. I hadn't considered this until he mentioned it and I was too panicked to try something that I hadn't totally researched. Plus, after struggling to lose all the weight, I was concerned that I might not be happy with an enhanced butt. I also remembered that my mom and all my aunts were members of the "flat butt tribe" and figured that its just part of my genetics.
I'm happy with how things turned out. I see why the doctor suggested it and imagine that had I selected the enhancement that I would be pleased with that as well. I know Laura8603 elected to have the augmentation and I remember reading that she loves it.

I'm having my arms done tomorrow but when I asked about my butt my surgeon said "it's a muscle so work it like you work your other muscles".So...with that I purchased the Brazil Butt Lift dvd's so away I go. It was definately less expensive than surgery so we'll see if it works. I'm in the process of moving too so once settled and after my arms have healed enogh I'm headed for Brazil...
What can really help your butt, especially the top part, is weight training. For the past 15 months, I have been doing squats, leg presses, lunges, TRX, Spinning, hiking hills, using the incline on the treadmill, the Step Mill, and this has all helped to decrease my flat butt. I actually don't have a flat butt any longer, but I did after 3 months of rapid weight loss. I have built up my butt and during one of my plastic surgery consults, the PS said that most people that have had WLS have flat butts, but he thought that I might end up with a nice butt due to the weight training that I had been doing. He couldn't promise it, but said that he could definitely feel the muscle. I still have some lower butt sagginess that no amount of weight training or exercise is going to help. It is loose skin. I am hoping that some of this might be decreased with a LBL.

Augmentation is used from the lower back from the LBL, The skin is removed and the fat (2"x3") is slipped into the butt. When Dr S did my markup, there were 2 rectangles between upper part of my butt and the lower back where Dr S was pulling down and pulling up on the butt... The fat is inserted into the butt to add a little extra bump on both sides.
Think of low rise jeans, just below the belt it adds a bit extra.

Wow Everyone! Thank you! Learning about PS is a little like falling down the rabbit hole! There is a whole new world and language out there! This is great insight! Chris, I have "seen" you around and have always wanted to ask about Dr. S. You seem to have had a great experience with great results. I'd love to know more, especially if you'd be willing to share pics........ I can PM you.
