University of Maryland Discount PS Resident Clinic

I went for a PS consult at the Unv of Maryland Discount PS clinic.  I saw the resident doctor there.  They gave me an estimate of $8,551 for a brachioplasty and a belt lipectomy.  The fees include my pre op testing, the surgery, anesthesia, doctors fees and a 23 hour recovery period.  Is this a good price?  I'm supposed to have the surgery on May 30 but I'm wondering now if I should have "shopped around" first.

 That's really cheap for MD. I live in MD, and went to a different surgeon and paid twice that for just the lower body lift. The price is so low there, because the doctors are learning.

I paid $8,000 for just the belt lipectomy @ Kansas University residency program.  That is a really great price for both procedures

Is Dr. Howell you surgeon?

Yes, I believe that is her name.  I had my consult just recently and I saw Dr. Stanwick.  He is leaving though at the end of March.  I go back the beginning of May to get accquianted with Dr Howell.  She will do my surgery at the end of May.

   I had my TT and Thigh Lift at the U of Md resident clinic in Dec. I paid $8500.00. They have excellent prices and I have had no issues with follow up care. Depending on when you have your surgery you may have surgery with one Dr and follow up with a different Dr. I had my surgery with Dr. Aguila and have followed up with Dr. Stanwix. I am hoping to have more surgery later in the year and definently plan on going back to the U of Md.
  I also can't say enough about Kelly....she was wonderful. I called her all of the time and she has no problem answering any and all questions that you have.

I already saw Dr Stanwix for my consult.  Dr Howell will do the surgery and I assume that Dr Howell will do the follow up care as well.  I think she will be there until the end of June.  It's my understanding that they rotate every 3 months or so.  And yes Kelly has been very good to me already.  I've already called her a few times with questions and to get everything set up.

do you feel your results were as good as a non discount surgeon? that is my biggest fear. i do have alot of extra skin! i am wondering if a case like mine might require a more skilled surgeon. i look like a sharpei.

Yes, they do change out every 3 months. I guess my next appointment will be with Dr Howell. I have one at the end of the month.
