Scar Creams for LBL scar
My surgeon told me at my 10 day check up to start moisturizing the heck out of the incisions. I've always been into aromatherapy and use a couple of different blends of oils I got through Young Living Oils. One is "Melrose" (has tea tree oil in it) and the other is "Gentle Baby". I rotate the use of them and mix them either with Lubriderm or vanilla oil and apply it to the incisions 3-4 times a day. In the shower, I always use almond oil with a variety of oils that are all good for skin in one way or another, including lavender, rosemary, tea tree, and others. At night, I also put straight Vitamin E oil on it - it's really sticky and seems to last most of the night.
It's only been two weeks since surgery, but I'm pretty tickled with the results especially in front. I may try the silicon strips though since he used staples in the back and it's a little lumpy yet. Thanks to you who posted info on them. I see him again a week from Tuesday and will see what he thinks about the progress so far and will try to remember to report back in then.
