My surgeon beat me up!
Oh, hun...I am so sorry to hear about everything you had to go through!!! ((HUGS)) But, I am happy to hear that you are finally hope and on the road to recovery. Keep up with the pain meds, stay hydrated, get whatever protein in that you can and get your rest. Remember, one day at a time! Soon enough, this will all be a memory and you'll be fully recovered!

Sorry you have had such a dreadful experience. I am very surprised that you didn't have a pain pump, while you were in the hospital. Keep up with the pain meds at regular intervals and use motrin or tylenol in between dose of pain meds. Sending positive healing thoughts your way.
Take Care and I hope the worst is behind you.

Thanks guys for your kind words. When I wrote the title of this post I forgot to mention I have 2 big black eyes from the nose job.. hence me saying my surgeon beat me up.
My doctor was great but the hospital staff was terrible! I had to beg for meds, and then they kept telling me I had to wait until X time, and then wouldn't come back. I had to keep ringing my nurse button.
After 6 days in the hospital not once did I get a sponge bath. Now I'm stuck at home unable to give myself one. At one point I told a nurse I was in pain, and she looked me up and down and said "well you knew what you signed up for". ???!!!
I did not have any help going to the bathroom so I just went on my own, or my husband helped me. They could not figure out how to get me a simple low carb protein shake. They kept on coming back with high carb stuff.
Again my husband had to do a lot of my care and spent all day caring for me while the nurses did little to nothing. I dreaded the night when he would go home and I would have to deal with these nurses that left me there for hours on end.
One night I slept for 6 hours and they didn't wake me to have meds so I was in extreme pain. So the 2 parts that made my experience so terrible were the nurses/hospital staff and the nose job.
My surgeon was great and supportive and came to visit me every day. But I didn't know what to tell him about the nurses as I was pretty out of it.
The nose job made it so I couldn't breath through my nose which made laying flat terrifying. Every nurse in the hospital seemed to want to lay me flat every time I tried to go back to bed, after going on my own to the toilet or trying to walk.
So I would highly recommend anybody thinking of doing a nose job to do it separately from any other procedure. Being swollen and bruised and only able to breathe out of your mouth is hard enough, without added all the other deep breathing you have to do with a lower body lift. I had to be on oxygen a good deal of the time because I just could not get enough from my mouth alone.
The good news is that I'm feeling a good deal better today, and tomorrow I get my catheter out. I'm super excited about that. Thanks guys for listening and letting me vent. I am going to write a bad letter to the hospital about this.
