Has anyone had a hysterectomy and a tummy tuck together? If so has your insurance paid for the Tummy tuck?

I have a friend who had it done.
Insurance paid for the hyster.
She paid for the TT cash because they would not cover it.

I have a friend *****cently had this done.  My understanding was that many of the costs were covered, but not all.  Doing both at the same time means anesthesia, hospital room, and things like that get covered at least.

Actually, anesthesia and surgical suite are billed (to the minute) by procedure.

So, even though you are already there and already under anesthesia, they will bill separately for each procedure.

When I had my Realize Band placed, I self paid up front.
I later got billed extra by the surgery center and the anesthesiologist ----- my surgeon found a hiatal hernia and although he did the repair of that for free, the center and the anesthesiologist billed me separately for the amount of time the hernia repair took.

My insurance paid 80% of those costs, but did not pay anything towards the Realize Band.

It is definitely cheaper to combine procedures if you can (one hospital stay vs 2, etc), but you might be billed for the additional time that the un-covered procedure takes.

Hi
I had mine done together
Insurance paid for hysterectomy & I paid for TT
there is a certain amount of the hospital  like overnight stay, PAT, OR time is charged by the Hr.
in hospital supplies are paid, Anesthesia is charged by the hr.
so the first portion for the hysterectomy was paid by insurance. I  had  to pay the extra OR fee 2 hrs and Anesthesia 2hrs and the PS fees  for TT & muscle tightening, if the PS goes over 2 hrs they didnt charge me any exra cause all PS fees are paid up front, at least in these parts.

PS opened me and made incision hip tp hip, GYN Dr. took out everything cause I had cervical cancer then he left and the PS finished me up that was 3 years ago. now my friend just had the sam procedures with the very same Dr. that I had at the same hospital and she had to pay the same.
it was the best way to do it all in 1 shot, it was not bad at all, truthfully it was a lot better then I had anticipated
good Luck to you
