7 Days Out from LBL WITH PICS
Got my first peek at my surgeon's work today because I took my first post-op shower! I am ecstatic at the results. I have a perfectly sculpted midsection. I kept staring at it in the mirror because I couldn't believe it was MINE! I can now wear a skin-tight top and not worry about my muffin top hanging over the sides of my skinny jeans. I also have a shaplier butt, too. The biggest thing I wanted out of this surgery (other than the obvious) was a perfectly symmetrical scar line side to side. The morning of surgery the surgeon he even joked while doing my markings and said, "I know, get it as even as possible." ha ha. He even joked about it at my first follow up appointment saying, "Well, did I get it even?" He has such a terrific bedside manner.
Recovery has been good so far. I'll still taking liquid Lortab when I have spikes of pain but it's really not too bad. I usually take if after I have been up and walking around a bit. The itching is driving me crazy so I'm taking Benadryl and it helps a little but it makes me extremely tired. I have another follow up tomorrow hopefully to remove the drains. I'm also going to transition into a girdle.

Jen, I'm so glad you mentioned this. I am absolutely insane about things being symmetrical. What would you advise as far as mentioning this to my surgeon. Should I use humor or look him in the eye and be dead serious?
You pictures look fabulous! Lucky you! 
After i went through my long list of questions during my initial consultation, I put the paper down, looked him in the eye and said, "Now, here is THE one thing I really want to talk about." I was dead serious about it. And I kept mentioning it in subsequent follow up discussions and the morning of surgery. He knew how important it was to me.
We also talked about different scar shapes across the buttocks (if you look at a lot of diferent pictures some people have scars straight across, some are arched, and mine is more of a diagonal line). Each surgeon's training is different and every body's skin is different, so they exercise judgment in determining the shape of the scar. Luckily for me he was able to deliver an even scar line AND preserve my tattoos which was really cool.
