Drains?
I didn't even learn the lanyard trick till day 5 or six. When I showered I had to let them sit on the shower chair. Then the would keep getting tangled. I ended up having a different girl one day. When I asked her for a shower she put one around my neck. Wow. What a difference, an easy fix I just never thought of it at least I only had 5 drains compared to everyone else's millions.

oh, hell, I pinned mine to my waist band and headed out to Starbucks on post-op day 4.
I did not care who saw them...ever.
My first abd drain came out at one week and then the second at 3 weeks.
My surgeon removes at 3 weeks regardless of output.
Man, I hated those things.
But, they are a necessary evil. (And I sure would not lie about the output.)
They are there for a reason.
But I sure was not gonna stay home!!

I started with eleven drains. I came home from Mexico with two still in because they were draining over 30cc. I only emptied my drains 2x a day. I pulled the last two out at three weeks. I was so happy to yank them out!
