Drains?

 I was just wondering how long everyone had drains in for? I'm going on two weeks tomorrow, my ps said he won't take them out till I have less than 30cc for two days straight, I have to say its frustrating just because there in the worst spot on top on my private atbthebmiddleof lower stomach, I haven't been in public yet cause I know everyone will be staring lol. Anyone else feel frustrated with theirs lol. Had to vent a lil thx for listening haha

oh, I remember crying when my PS refused to take them out.
I had 1 drain 3 weeks and I cheat on amount of drainage, i put less  to make sure he will take it out.
he did and I developed seroma which was treated surgically.
i know drains are evils, but please try to keep them in as long as nedeed to avoid seromas.

 I don't know what they look for in the numbers, I don't know if it varies between body parts or not. But yes they are so annoying. The one I had in my right arm didn't have a clip in it so I couldn't hang it on my garment. Every time I would move it would get caught on something and tug on my arm. I am down to just one drain now it is so much easier to just do basic functions. Plus it's one I can hide under my clothes. I would hope your close to having them removed. How much fluid is still coming out?

25 ccs..my last drain came out 2nd week.. I find keeping the suction at a maximum was better..

 I'm not real sure. I'm doing it right but I dump them every 12 hours that's what they did in the hospital but example I drained them at 730am l-11 r-20.  Then I drained at 6:30pm l-15 r-20 then I don't drain again till morning which it's been the 11 left right20 pretty much I'm guessing I count both for the whole days total? I'm not sure lol I go we'd for check up I'm guess I should ask lol I'm confused lol

 You are doing it right. If your doing it every 12 hours add the two totals together for your daily. It sounds like your getting close. If you have an appointment wed maybe at least the left one will be ready hopefully. Fingeres crossed.

I used to dump my drains every 4 hours!  I hated anything in them!  And in the beginning when they are draining a lot, they get so heavy!  Especially when you have 10 hang out of you!

Get a fanny pack and cut a slit in the back.  Slip the drain in while it is empty.  Now you can go out.  Just getting out will make you feel better.  Hope they come out soon!

I had one of my thigh drains in for 4 weeks!  It would put out 35 and then the next day it would put out more than 100!  I was so frustrated!  I couldn't believe it! 

Can you hang your drain from a Lanyard?  That's what I did with my LBL drains and that way you can go out!  Don't stay in!  You need to get out!  My Goodness!

And Honey, remember one thing - you want that fluid out!  Better out then in!
