Lipo pain...how long does it last?

I had my tummy tuck and full back lipo a little over one month ago....tummy feels much better, still little tight but my backis another story.  It still hurts a lot at the end of the day.  Since I can't take Advil, I am still taking a pain pill at night.  Anyone else have this...and when did it get better?  The heating pad at night is a lifesaver for me.

Thanks for any advice!

I had mine done (outter thighs) on 01/04 and i still have pain.  It is MUCH better than it was but it is still achey at times.  I also dont have much feeling in the skin in that area.  Not sure how much longer that will last either.

Awwww Patty.  I'm so sorry you're still having pain.  I never had the pain, but I have numbness in my outer thighs.   I can't even tell that I had lipo in the ret of my thighs.  The numbness feels really strange and if I scratch it, it kind of hurts.  Hand in with the heating pad.

I hope you had a fun weekend!

I hear you!  I wi**** is better at month 2, but for me when I change position (when I get up in the morning, after sitting in a car, etc. ) I get a burning in my back (where there was a lot of lipo).  I actually thought it was the band of my compression garmet, so I stopped using it (yes I am well beyond the 8 weeks post LBL), but it has not helped.
AND word from my experience yesterday, my scar is bright pink and red from not wearing a garmet.  This is apparently normal and it will get less irritated with time. (Just a heads up.)

I will also say that I run arnica montana on my back and it does seem to help (I also take them orally and it has helped with bruising and swelling in the past)...rather it is mental or not I do not know.

Hang in there and keep doing what you are doing.  Is there anyway you can use a heating pad during the day (lunch break?) so that it does not get to the point that you need to take pain meds in the evening?

I may have had a few extra potholes along the way, but the journey has been good!

I called my Plastic surgeon about this today to see if it is normal that I hurt this much and to see if I could get a massage.  The answer is yes this is normal sometimes..I had alot of lipo.  And yes I can get a massage but not deep tissue.  He said to get them daily if I want..well I can't do that  but I have one scheduled for tomorrow night..can't wait!

and warm baths are helping alot too....just taking it one day at a time!
