Tummy tuck question

 I had my consult for a tummy tuck but I forgot an important question when you get a tummy tuck do they LIpo your stomach? The  dr said I will have a flatter look but the top of my stomach by breast will be soft not rolly. I just wasn't sure if lipo was included! Also on my hips I have some small rolls he said that should go away when he pulls the skin down but he doesn't want to make huge scars across my hips! Has anyone had this and had those rolls go away after with out being cut across the hips. I feel like just having him do the extra 3 inch cut why have to go under a second time.

If he did not mention lipo, assume it is not included. I did not have lipo, but I knew there was no fat to lipo. If you are not getting an extended tummy tuck or lower body lift, your rolls on your hips will most likely remain. my surgeon put my scars extra low so they cannot be seen when I'm wearing low cut panties or jeans. Look at your doctor's before/afters if scar placement is important to you. Some put the incisisions very high.

 Im gonna tell him to do that I don't mind any scars I just want the skin gone so I can finally feel the size I really am. I know I should've asked but I was so happy to start the process!

Totally agree with Laura...don't assume you are getting lipo.  I would call and ask your question..it is important to know.  I had an extended tummy tuck  (is yours extended) and back lipo...my PS did contouring with the tummy tuck and I love it.  I don't know if that was included with the extended TT or because I had back lipo...but you need to find out.  I loved the contouring part of my TT.

AND also make sure you ask if he is going to lift your mons pubis area.  Most do, BUT never assume BECAUSE I know that some do not without an extra charge and without the patient requesting it!  Think of a very flat pretty tummy and a mons that is not lifted!  It's not pretty!  In fact, my friend has to wear a spanx every day because it looks like she has a scrotum! 

It's always best to ask!

That would be horrible!! My mons area was still pretty swollen until about this month (I'm 8 months out now from my lbl/mons lift and was getting worried)

I warned Dr S that I would be very upset if he didn't raise mine!  It was the first thing he told me when I got to the PACU.  He was so funny!  He knew I was serious!  My friend, who didn't get her's raised was told she would have to pay $3K to get it done and she hadn't asked.  Stupid if you ask me!  Why would any doctor do a TT and not raise it or atleast address it with the patient so that the patient can decide if they want it done or not.  It literally looks like a scrotum between her thighs.

Can I ask who your PS is?  Your story sounds just like mine.  I went in asking for a LBL but he told me he felt I only needed an ETT.  Instead of asking more questions I went along with it.  Don't get me wrong, my stomach looks alot better then before....BUT...I still have that ugly loose skin on my hips and around my back.  My doctor didnt do any lipo either and I didnt ask.  After my post op appts I think I finally found out why he suggests what he does....scars.  The thing is I didnt want this tummy tuck to wear a bikini, I did it to feel good about myself, I could careless about scars.  My scar looks great, you can barely see it and I am 5 months out..he did a great job.  Now I sit back and complain to my hubby that I wished I would have demanded what I wanted or looked for someone else...but I was naive and went along with the PS.  Recently I asked about getting a breast lift and implants and I asked him if he'll remove the extra skin on the bra line and he said that would just create a bigger scar.  UGH!  I don't blame any of this on my PS because I should have done my research and asked the right questions and instead of agreeing I should have demanded what I wanted.  So if I were you I would definately get the LBL or if you decide with the ETT make sure lipo is included in that.  A regular Tummy tuck will only make your stomach look good but nothing else.  Frustrated with my results but you live and learn...

What is an ETT?

 Thank u all for the info I called the dr office the said LIpo isn't included and it's just a regular tummy tuck! I'm a little sad I should've asked! I was wondering does anyone know if insurance covers an exstensive tt or a whole lower body lift?????
