SOOOOOO MADDD!

OMG! here i am 1 day before surgery and my sugeons office just called and said that the panni was denied! WTF! Im also having a hernia repair done and its going to be done by a plastic surgeon because he does the component saparation procedure but now they are telling me that unless i pay out of pocklet more $$$$ he can only do the hernia repair! Im soooo upset with this office and i kknew this was going to happen. I had problems from the get go when they took my money and scheuled me for surgery without an insurance approval. Im just not a happy camper right now and i could scream. They submitted all the info to the insurance the wrong way and no one in that office knows what they are doing. Now i need to make a biggg decision and decide if i still wanna go through with the hernia repair tomorrow and get the panni later on this year whenever ???? The main reason for me going to him was for the hernia repair in the first place but then i decided to do the panni so i wouldnt have to have 2 different surgeries at different times. My husband has taken off 2 weeks of work to helpout with the kids, while im recovering. I swear if its not one thing its another.

 I feel so bad for you, this is something that would happen to me! It sucks because you want to limit surgeries and your husband could be working! Why is It the office just notified you, they seem like their not on top of things and if it were me I wouldn't want to be distracted with bull**** the night before any surgery! How the hell do they think your gonna be able to pay for the surgery the day before? I wish you the best and prays are with you if you decide to go through with it tomorrow take some quit time and truly think and if your not happy with them maybe you should think of another dr office.        I feel awful for you. I remember you previous post where you were nervous about them scheduling your surgery before approval. I thought that was kind of backwards, but I am a novice at this stuff, and you would assume the surgeons office are the so called professionals. It only makes it worse that they didnt even submit the paperwork on time or the right way. For the person behind the desk its no big deal, but for you and your entire family this is a HUGE deal. I dont know much about hernias, but is it causing problems, or can you put it off longer? Can your Husband reschedule his vacation? I know its probably just not that easy to reschedule. I guess  you could 1) go thru with it as scheduled and maybe get some kind of loan for the panni. 2) postpone all together so you can do both surgeries together and even better with a new surgeron. 3) Just do the hernia and save for the Panni.. If you go with choice 2 then maybe you would have better results appealing your case with a new drs office helping you. Was the dr planning on at least giving you a discount since he was already using the hospital ect.... Uggg I so dont know what I would do. I am so sad for you. :(

is there any chance you can get it done then try to resubmit after the fact? that really sucks!

I am so sorry for what you are going through.  I read your post before when you said that the dr's office scheduled the surgery without having the approval yet.  I am a little concern about you because I know that you are very stressed out and that is not good for you the day before having surgery.  Can you postpone the surgery and file an appeal with the insurance company?  Then after you know their decision they can scheduled you for the surgery. 

I wish you well in what ever decision you make.

thanks everyone for the responses, i spoke to the surgeon and yes he's cutting me a deal for the surgery, almost half of his fee which is great. But now they are saying that the hospital might want their fee's upfront for an hour and extra anes upfront. HUH? How do they know how much anes i may need and who knows how much time in the OR, why cant they bill me for that, oh well i guess i;ll find out tomorrow. Ive decided to still have the hernia surgery. theres no way im walking around another day with this huge thing sticking out my belly. looks like im 8 months preggers.

Thanks for all your concerns and i'll keep ya'll updated on my recovery, i need to get some rest for my big day tomorrow. My nerves were already shot but now they are gone!

I feel so badly for you..I am really sorry that you are going thru this.  This entire thing could have been avoided if that office handled it correctly.  They should not have scheduled you until it was approved!

Are you going thru with the pani?  If you are..have you thought about upgrading to a tummy tuck?

I had to prepay for my hospital and anesthesiologist costs...they estimate the time it will take and bill accordingly.  I had to have mine paid before I had surgery...paid that morning.
