Short Term Leave

So basically if I had transgender surgery it would be covered.

Otherwise, I have to save up as much PTO as possible and use the FMLA. 


it sounds like you should be able to receive short term leave for PS depending on how you file. i would think, if your insurance will cover it this would be a "surgery or procedure required due to reconstruction or medical necessity". otherwise they wouldn't cover it.

if your PS is not covered by your insurance, i think you could claim it is a surgery "performed in connection with, or as a result of, a covered illness" since your weight loss surgery was insured.

but i guess your HR department would have the best info for you.
