LBL/Thigh Lift & 1 night stay
I stayed one night with TT/BL/BA/Lipo/Mons lift/lateral thigh lift.. It kind of sucked the 1st 3-4 days.. If only staying one night.. make sure you get a recliner for home and lifted toilet seat thing.. and you need someone home for the first 2 days..
My next PS will be my arms with possible revision to thighs and boobs.. I will make sure tis time to get a recliner..

How was your thigh lift done? The first surgeon would do a verticle line down the inside of the thigh. The second one does the incision along the top of the thigh where the panty line is, carries around to the back and connect that incision in the front along the pubic hair line. Kind of like a V. He said that approach gives better. He does not prefer the vertical line. The more consutls I have I can see the differeing approachs. The 2nd surgeon did not do my implants, but I did go to that practice, and it is pretty phenomonal. I just wish we could stay 2 days, but we can't. I have a recliner, but if I choose him I will be sitting on my incision along the panty line on my lower but.
The reasons for staying overnight depend on the surgery and it's expected or possible problems. My goal is to prevent little issues from becoming big issues, and in the case of a bodylift that requires professional observation in an equipped facility for postop day one and two.
I have certainly had a few patients who feel great and want to go the next day, but they are only 10% I would guess.
Being comfortable, resting, and away from kids, etc is also great and I too have heard of everything from the family dog to toddlers "attacking" my poor patient after they are home....but again, the main issue is being able to get lab tests, xray, or whatever and then begin therapy should problems like bleeding, breathing problems, urinary retention, inadequate pain control, or any host of other things occur.
In a properly equipped facility, I can be on top of those things instantly. At home, I feel patients are stuck and not able to be assessed or treated in any way except by phone.
Happy healing !

Hi Dr. L,
I prefer to stay 2 nights because this is an extensive surgery, and I want to be as comfortable as possible in order to gain the necessary strength needed before going home. I was surprised to learn the other day when I had another consult that some patients who have the LBL/thigh lift, or other surgical combinations, are released after 1 night. I was told in order to stay longer, the surgery must be performed in a hospital setting. From what I have been reading from others, 2 nights in the hospital is definitely needed post-op LBL/thigh lift.

Yea it really wasnt long enough.
It was hard, and painful. I coudlnt have done it without my family... i needed help to bend/ sit/lay/get up. Even showering was impossible alone. I even had people wake me up to take the pain meds at night. I'm so blessed for my family.
I have vids on you tube of the day of surgery, the day after surgery and updates... cleaning drains and the results ect...look up jenniferhammond88 on youtube and it will bring me up if interested
