LBL/Thigh Lift & 1 night stay

I had a face lift and body work consultation yesterday - consult # 3.  This particular surgeon keeps his patients in the surgical suites for one night.  Is that doable....body lift/thigh lift and home the following day?

That's what all the surgeons I went to said. It seemed crazy to me - particularly since I have two small children running around the house. That was one of the things that tipped the scales towards Dr. Sauceda. Being able to have almost two weeks or daily nursing care and no home responsibilities is going to be wonderful!

For you absolutely...I can't imagine how you could recover having small children at home.  Mommy telling them " I'm sorry you can't sit here, I Can't hold you, etc.." would be impossible.  Dr. L keeps his patients in the hospital 2 nights, which seem more reasonable.  But 2 weeks w/nursing care would be nice.  Best of luck when you see Dr. S.

My first day home from the hospital with my VSG, my hubby left to get my pain meds filled and my daughter crawled up on me in the recliner and flipped us backwards.  I had to hang upside down until my husband returned.  YES - that really happened!

Although I am nervous to travel alone for plastics with Dr. S, I do think I can rest better while away from home.
But as for you, be strong and do not give up, for your work will be rewarded. ~2 Chronicles 15:7

That had to be such a scary moment for you and your daughter. You will be able to heal easier when you have your procedures with Dr. S

Eileen, just wondering what plans you have for any complications?  (I think Dr. S would be great, just don't know what I would do when back in the states.)   -Thanks

I needed 2 nights if only for the morphine and hospital bed after my LBL.  I probably could have gone home after one night and done just fine at home.  These are pretty big surgeries separately.  I've read where the thigh lift has the most difficult recovery.  I have to wonder if one day is enough too.

I know...I wonder too.  I absolutely loved the consultation for the face life.  I went ahead and had him give me one for lower body.  I did not think I would even consider anyone else for that work, but now I don't know.  One day isn't much time.

I have the same question here too.. gotta ask at my consult. I'm going for a LBL, boob job and nose job on 3/5 with one night stay. My insurance is covering part of it since I have a deviated septum and hernia. I wonder if I can get them to cover one more night in the hospital.. especially for the morphine!

You're having a lot done.  Hopefully insurance will pay...especially if the doctor deems it medically necessary.
